Fiesta TDCi fuel pressure switch

Featured Replies

Dont know if anyone can help me, my dad has an 05 firsta 1.6 tdci and the engine light keeps coming on and going in to limp mode, so he took it to the garage and diagnosed it as the fuel pressure switch/sensor, so he took it to the garage today to get the job done, and it is part of the fuel pump, and he has been told that it will need a new pump, as you cant get the switch/sensor seperatly.

Has anyone else had this problem, and did it result in a new pump, or could you get the sensor seperatly?

He did take out an exteneded warrenty with warrenty direct, but they wont pay for it as the pump hasnt "failed", so what a waste of time they are.

So hes looking at a bill for £680 to have the pump changed.
