Hey everyone, I've just realised I've never posted pics of my car, so here she is. 1.8 Sea grey Titanium I came close to purchasing a black titanium, but then this one came in the market and colour swung it for me, plus the added bonus of it running 18's too. I had to replace the rear boot handle as the clips had broken and a new 1.8 badge as the one had fallen off 🙈 and a new reversing light as the numpty who owned it before me couldn't wire one in to save his life. Im not gonna go crazy on mods, I've done that on my last two cars, do this one is gonna have more subtle ones. So far Scuff plates and genuine mats all the interior lights apart from the glove box lights have been changed to led. Additional boot light too but I'll get a pic of that once it's dark, and the side, main and full beam lights have been changed too. Next will be a set of Eibachs and maybe change the washer jets Ill post more pics as soon as I can.1 point

I had the same issue with one of my old car's. Just take the car down a country lane/motorway. Red line it in 2 and 3rd to clear it out. Addictive wouldn't do it any harm so if u have a bottle pop that in aswell. My main problem was that I didn't do much motorway/higher speed driving and it causes soot build up.1 point

I don't like the thought of chocolate at moment, After a day out at Cadbury world a bag full of freebies then a walk around the shop I'd be happy if I never had to eat it again 😆1 point

Blimey- this escalated quickly. Must have missed whoever suggested anyone was relying on the red lights to stop them crashing.1 point

I do like seeing a brand new red Ford Mustang parked in someone's driveway as I drove to Dingwall today for the Volvo! Very nice looking vehicle... I also like picking up said Volvo, and although it has various "bodge" repairs to the exterior and some missing plastics on the interior, it should clean up fairly well and the missing/bodged parts can be replaced cheaply. The main thing is that the engine runs like new and the gearbox and clutch are in good working order. I did initially get a fright whilst driving it home as the fuel gauge slowly dropped from half a tank to empty, making me think it was leaking fuel!! Then as soon as it hit the empty mark it started to go up again to 1/2 and stayed there for the rest of the journey. Must be a dodgy gauge or sender unit, but thankfully not a leak.1 point

Where in the world are you? I saw a brand new Aston today, it was a lovely grey on a 17 plate which I've never seen around here before. Amazing engine noise from it especially when you are on the high street with building either side of the road Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

I think also the mix ratio of snowfoam comes into play, I prefer a thinner mix compared to a almost shaving foam thickness. I only really use it if the car is really soiled. And I agree autoglym is love or hate, I think the body shampoo isn't to bad. Everyone will have there own preference on brands and how they wash their car. If you're happy with the results then that's all that matters. I do think spending hundreds on a pot of wax (unless you do it as a profession) is silly.1 point

Thanks for the rep,y Mine is a black 'style' thanks for the pointers - I'll check my steering wheel colour- I really fancied the full leather any they can be had for sub £251 point

You're looking at changing to a Mk3/3.5 8" display with at least Sync 2 or Sync 3. Your image shows a 8" Sync 2 display. Unless you can find used parts or very big discounts it will cost around £1-1.5K in parts alone. There is also a difference between Sync 2 and Sync 3 display tech with Sync 3 using capacitive and the APIM/media hub associated with them. Besides the physical hardware changes there are software changes and new console facia to house the larger screen. If you're going to do it I'd go Sync 3 having used both because Sync 2 is slow, clunky and doesn't play with iOS/Android apps etc.1 point

Yes it certainly does, I'm not a nervous driver at all normally, quite happy to drive on motorways etc, but parking has always put me in a bit of a panic! I've been passed 7 months now so it's getting easier, but that particular time I just didn't give enough room to swing in to the space, it was a narrow multistory... I park in it regularly so will try and avoid that certain area in the future! Luckily nobody was watching when I was making a fool of myself! Haha many i shouldn't! I plan to get it evicted from the car port when I come for the Focus but not sure what dad would think about that! Oh sounds good, 1999 is the best year. Yes indeed, on that same day I had a hairy moment turning left out of school, it's a sharp turn onto a 40mph road, and whilst I was turning my hand slipped off the wheel and I cam a bit too close to the car going the opposite way...teaches me to have one hand on the wheel as I was changing gear...could've ended badly! Maybe that contributed to my parking fail! Yes I've never reverse bay parked, too scared to haha although generally I'm fine at reversing, and I'm also fine at parallel parking although I try and avoid it if possible. Basically I try and avoid any parking! The spaces at school are massive so luckily I don't have to deal with tiny car parks very often. Yes I hope so, won't be using the car till at least Monday but hopefully then I'll be back to normal! Thanks guys!1 point

Sorry that some of you litte snowflakes have got upset but we have a compulsory Eye Test and Driver appraisal every 3 years and I have advanced driving on both 4 & 2 wheels. We are tought not to rely on electronic gadgets and drive to the Police Advanced Trainig hand book by ex police instructors. We are dumbing down driving relying on gadgets to get you out of the crap rather than advanced driving preventing the situation.1 point

It's a 1999 Volvo V40, either a project or "drive it as it is then scrap it". Not quite sure which yet, but I'm pleased with the price. It does knock your confidence when something like that happens, but at parking speed you wouldn't have caused any damage and it is easily rectified. When bay parking (if you are pulling in nose first) you need to leave a lot of room and "swing out" first in order to avoid getting close to cars on either side. If you cut it too tight then you can end up getting yourself stuck at an awkward angle and then making a tit of yourself trying to get out, as I did a few times soon after passing my test... In tight situations it is best to reverse park, but I have a hang-up about that as I doubt myself when reversing for some reason, when in reality I am actually very good at it... Same as parallel parking, I can do it pretty well but always avoid doing it. Whoever wired my brain was not a qualified electrician, put it that way!! You'll be back to your usual driving self soon enough.1 point

Ok, I'll give it a go, thanks. Yeah, I'd like a more long-term fix, but I'm going to be getting a garage soon and, hopefully, the UK will have marginally fewer downpours in the summer than it does in the other seasons. ;)1 point

Takes a while to get your eye in when it comes to parking. You just need to get your head around the turning circle and you will be sorted. Always remember if you do happen to catch a car on your way past it and you're not sure how to get off it then just reverse the exact way you came, you can't really do much more damage going back the way you came. Maybe don't park next to the Aston for a while though [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

Not on a fiesta but one of my cars used to do the same, I worked out the following. If I slid the seat away from the front with the backrest still pulled forward then the seat would slide all the way back, if I put the seatback to where it should be then the seat itself would slide back to my preset position. Hope that makes sense! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

I don't like the Lexus I was behind on the way home form Tesco, who indicated left far too early, four left turnings too early! I know of one other: my neighbour's daughter is at it too, for her degree Marine Biology rather than all Biology1 point

Not any more mate, I'm retired. Your mileage boast isn't something I'm unfamiliar with though, my norm was 100,000 every two years (car change time). Clearly I have learnt nothing about driving in 50 years and you're obviously an expert. Might I ask that, if you wish to be a keyboard warrior and score points off people, you don't use me as your target? Have a nice day, I'm sitting in the pub. ;)1 point

Agreed. And also, Adam. It's not a straight swap either. Lots of module changes and lots of money to spend. You might as well swap your car for a higher spec with that system rather than spend the money to upgrade it personally.1 point

Yeah also I think going down hill helped. As well. Had a use of the power this morning and do tempted to get an induction kit in there the sound of stock is awesome but imagine what a kit will do. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk1 point

Yeh thats on my list of stuff to rule out so far I have: - take the trim off around the stero - check the plastic between the steering wheel and the spedo - check the radio/volume stalk under the indicator stalk - the plastic screen in the middle of the spedo and rev counter - and finally take the fan vents off and the trim around the stero off and drive around - oh and check the glove compartment for any lose plastics now after that if i dont find the "rattle" I'm tempted to just hit the dash very hard with a hammer and hope for the best lol1 point
-
The radio/menu stalk beside the steering wheel rattles in my car, and for what ever reason it is more apparent during warmer days. Also I thought originally it was coming from the dash myself, perhaps this is the noise your hearing?1 point

I was just on Instagram and spotted a picture of a car crash in Brixton that involved two Corsas! One was one it's roof and the other was rather crumpled. Hopefully that's another two off the road! :D1 point
