  1. If I were you I'd have a look at a piper system then, I couldn't really comment on how much it will change your engine note but from experience there quality is excellent, and they have a good choice of tailpipes too.

  2. Oh really?! I presumed they'd be popular on here as they are on the mk7fiesta facebook group. Sorry its a bit grainy and slow and *****... But I converted a short video of the "fade" effect in the app to a gif so I can put it on here:)

  3. I've got a couple of problems with my Fusion and was hoping someone could help. The drivers side seatbelt is starting to fray and I was thinking of changing it for one in better condition. Is this a difficult job and what tools are needed? I've seen used seatbelts on ebay for about £25 from breakers yards, as long as the scrapped car hasn't been in a smash should these be ok? The second problem is the sensor on the driver's side front door is playing up. Sometimes the dash warning light and interior light stay on when the door is closed. I've looked but can't find the door sensor, where is it please?

  4. Please remember folks, that the "New Member Introductions" area is just to say "Hi, My name is... I drive a .... and I am interested in...." Please do not post "should I change...." or "What do you think...." or any other conversations in this area, only post hello's and if you are looking for help then you need to post elsewhere (please read on). 1) If your driving one of the main Ford Groups (Fiesta, Focus, CMAX, SMAX, Galaxy, Sierra etc) then please post your questions, advice, guidance, how do I's in this appropriate category if it refers to your car. for example "My Fiesta wont start" - Fiesta forum. "My CMAX blew up" - CMAX section. "My Mondeo is driving me crazy" - Mondeo Section. If your posting about a particular make of car, put it in that section. 2) Only post in the "Guides" sections if you are posting a guide (like you see in Haynes!) on how to do something. "A guide on how to remove the pollen filter from a Focus" - Focus Forum - Focus Guides sub forum. "A guide on how to replace a battery on a Fiesta" - Fiesta Section - Fiesta Guides Sub Forum 3) If you have questions, or suggestions of a cleaning / detailing nature - "How should I wash my car?" or "what polish can I use to make my car sparkle" belong in the detailing and cleaning section. All of these will help you to best get a response. Please do not post anything and everything into either the introductions, or the "general chat" sections. On this forum, we have a lot of members, who between them have an excellent level of knowledge in specific car area's, and they tend to congregate more so in their own area's. If you want a quick answer, Post directly in that section and someone can hopefully come back to you soon. Please DO NOT post multiple copies of the same thread and/or post, as these are likely to be removed. Please review the main forum page, and familiarize yourself with the categories and forum's that we have. We are here to help, and as a forum, pride ourselves as being the best on the net (top of most ford related searches!) as such, to ensure that you get the best from us as a new member, please help yourselves, and help us to get back to you sooner rather than later.

  5. Just clocked up 3700 miles and my rear discs are in a shocking state for the amount of miles they have done, spoke to garage today see what they thought but still waiting a reply from them . worth keeping a eye on yours, just a foot note the front discs are still perfect.

  6. Hi all, new member here... Had a MK1 Focus and somebody decided to write it off so I thought why not upgrade to a MK2... So, I had looked at a few on eBay and seen this one. 104K on the clock, 3 owners, 2005, 12 months MOT. It's a clean car for its age with only some minor dents near the passenger door handle. Already added some LED sidelight bulbs and footwell bulbs, just awaiting the number plate and main interior light bulbs! Will be updating this thread as and when bits are done, with of course some questions or advice! Thanks for looking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I got these Zetec S alloys for £250 including the tyres two years ago, wheels was like brand new and the Continental tyres show'd no wear, off ebay but had to travel 100 miles to pick them up, luck of the draw I suppose but bargins can still be found. Conti's now gone though and cheap tyres now fitted

  10. Price refllects on condition . I didnt see the condition But then again i wouldnt buy without viewing personally.& I think they are not too bad for price. I bought facelift st225 alloys for £280 in mint with very good tyres. Its hard finding mint wheels with good tyres & cheap.always the option to refurb. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

  11. Don't even think of buying cheap sets! No doubt they'll be dodgy with kerbing & flat spots. Find a decent set and don't be caught out with damaged alloys. Personally I wouldn't want any of them styles! The first link are the type I had, reckon they was made out of monkey metal!

  21. Hi, Thank you for your message, you have reassured me a lot. I was scared I made a bad purchase, as I really liked the car but thought that the gear gearstick was already broken or something. After your message I've been more careful on looking on the problem, and you are right, When I am I P and squeeze the lock switch, the P is flashing. If I do this and then move, it show the good gear on the screen, If I go too fast and do not wait for the flashing P, then it keeps flashing all the time. I am not sure if the dealer where I bought the car will know how to fix it, or if it need to be fixed. I have a 6 months warranty so I will check if something can be done and will post here if I hear more. But definitely glad that I am not the only one.

  22. Ford Dealers already have the part number for the new SD-Card, was asking at my dealer last week. But they are not able to order it now :D so it looks like it was added only into e-catalog but no ready to ship stock :D hope this moth will Ford officially have it.

  24. Might not be an actual recall. If it's a minor issue it's something that will just get done the next time a dealer has the car, such as at service time.

  25. It would but naw i couldn't do that. It's one or the other lol I shouldn't even be looking at cars tbh moving into our first house soon so that's taken a good chunk of savings away. I just couldn't resist when i saw the listing. I spose as you say I'll know when i see it on Saturday. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

  26. That's a very nice ST you found! Yeah, it's swapping a 6yo for a 10yo with all it's ups and downs, but I guess you'll see at the moment if it's actually worth it...? You know my opinion on this, it's still an older car (although one of the best ones), and you will have to deal with that eventually, but what about keeping both? I'm sure that would solve the dilemma

  28. Many thanks for all that info Peter. Will certainly look to obtain the software and link. My plan A is to try Wynn's EGR cleaner, easy and cheap with some good reports. Plan B will probably be to blank the EGR, but will this give MOT problems. Plan C ??? Would be very interested to understand the mechanism whereby a faulty EGR produces soot in the exhaust. Regards

  33. These windows are bonded and (like the windscreen) are part of the structural strength of the bodywork. Removing these windows without damage to the windows or window frame/bodywork is very difficult. If you want to remove these windows you should calculate the cost of a pair of new windows and a specialist to install them correctly.

  37. BP Ultimate for me in my 2015 when I can. Nitro+ seems to make my car growl a lot more vs BP which seems to make my car quieter and smoother, and Shell appears to cause my car to regen more frequently.

  38. Good stuff. Shame about the old one but the 1.8 engine is ten times better, so you should enjoy that much more! That mileage is astonishingly low, so well done finding it.

  39. That is a hard question. Garages with a Ford franchise (dealers) vary a lot. Some charge huge sums just to look, and are quite useless, some are honest and good garages. So it all depends on what your dealer is like. From the reports above, I do not have much confidence in the garage you have been using, at least when it comes to faults that require any diagnosis work. And from the title of this thread, I guess you are unsure, as well! If you are reliant on garages for honest and competent diagnosis, and work, then you either need a very good local garage, or a very reliable car. An 11 year old Ford is never going to be the most reliable car on the road. My 1.8 has served me well, but it has had a very long list of ailments, from major Instrument Cluster failures to reverse light switch & coolant tank failures. I have been able to fix them all myself apart from a wheel bearing, so they have been annoying rather than expensive. If I had used garages for all the fixes, it could have cost a fortune. I do not like to "do down" Ford on a Ford site, but their dealer network is patchy and too often poor quality. Japanese brands do have a reputation for reliability. Though all car manufacturers are global enterprises now, so it would need some homework to ensure the reputation has some substance, for any particular model. ------ Maybe the dealer will find some simple problem like an engine mount or something. Otherwise you might have to consider other options. I think charging for an injector changed "on a whim" that did not cure a problem, might be challengable. CAB might be able to advise.

  42. Thanks folks- checked it at lunchtime and normal service has been resumed. Annoying though. The red lights are a pain- especially when their activation is usually someone elses fault (cutting in front), but I don't find them too bad.
