  5. Well I've not been about for 3 years after having my Focus ST225 as went to a Mazda 3 MPS and then an E46 M3 before finally coming back to a Ford. The 2 previous cars really didn't really do anything for me - the MPS had loads of power but was totally blan, and the M3 was just too immaculate to enjoy (the inner bufty in me went mad) So here it is - my new car - a 2016 Focus RS. Picked it up 29th April 2016: The speckle in the paint is unreal: I asked the dealers not to touch / wash / valet it as it's covered in fallout and crud from it's train trip from Germany - I'll give it a full detox wash tomorrow all being well so it stays swirl free from the off. Inside was still as it came off the transporter: I expressed an interest with my dealer last February and paid the deposit in July. It's been quite a wait. To say it's an amazing drive is a massive understatement. It's immense.

  6. Hi All New member from Yorkshire region, I stumbled across the site researching performance air filter for my van. Seems well educated to mods and cally fudging around so decided to join. VAN ( you shout, lol ) well she is a little bit special? Meet the rally van, Limited edition M sport #217, mapped to 150 by myself now looking into filters and noise so popping to local performance exhaust centre next week to see what we can achieve.

  7. I recently purchased a Junsun dash cam off Amazon, with rear cam that can double as a reversing cam https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Car-Vehicle-Electronics/Junsun-Support-Automatic-Recording-Detection-Parking-Monitoring/B01HSVLX3G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494099660&sr=8-1&keywords=junsun+dash+cam at under £63,it represents very god value for money. As a retired photographer I can confirm that you get excellent front camera images with very wide angle. The rear camera is also adequate. Setting up is easy my only quibble is that I found the window mount set at the top of the screen still sets the camera rather low (for my use anyway) but that may not be a problem if you need to use the good, clear screen for reversing while driving. The camera is a good heavy-ish metal - no flimsy plastic here! It seems built to last and although it states max 32gb micro SD card, it will cope with a 64gb. Recording of the front an rear cameras together each are saved as separate files on the card. Still photos are also excellent. If you want to record yourself swearing at other road users, you'll find the microphone (which can be switched off) is very sensitive (advise, don't eat beans before driving!).

  10. My car was registered 30/03/13 with blue display so can be sure but would think this would work as mine has . My old module had a build date of 20130128 = 28/01/2013 and old part number was AM5T-14D212-CB So if yours is the same part number I would say your in with a very good chance.

  11. PAS fluid is a veritable minefield, My 2006 focus is Red. You may find some help on the Ford Parts site. http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_red_power_steering_fluid_1ltr_f_1776431.htm http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_green_power_steering_fluid_1ltr_f_1781003_c_1045.htm

  12. Everything in your list except BLIS requires the camera system. It's the really big assembly that goes behind the mirror. About 2-3 times the size of the standard array of GPS and rain sensors. Active park assist only uses sensors in the front and rear bumpers. BLIS requires extra sensors/radar? In the rear bumper which won't be fitted. So short answer is no.

  13. The 1.6 Duratec Petrol engine has 2 different drive belts. The 1st drive belt drives the water pump and the alternator and the 2nd drive belt drives the airconditioning pump. Both belts are stretch belts without tensioners. Stretch belts can officially only be installed once (however there are ways to reuse them). Ford prescribes to remove the belts by cutting them. Personally I would not even bother to reuse the stretch belts. The stretch belts are pretty inexpensive and reusing them will void any warranty on the timing belt change. If a stretch belt snaps it potentionally can cut the timing belt cover and timing belt which will cause serious engine damage.

  14. Thanks for all your replies, I'm guessing it's just age that's loosened them up a bit. I'll try and hunt down some glue/sealant today Cheers Darren

  15. He Might have a 1.6 Petrol, I don't know what the configuration for the aircon and alternator is for that. I wouldn't recommend leaving your timing belt to 125k tho, I changed mine about 75, the close to 125 you get the move chance it can go wrong, not sure its something I would want to take any chances on tbh! Since you need to take the aux belt(s) off to get the timing belt sorted, then it seems daft not to change them at the same time, but do you need to? nope

  16. It was a long time ago when I did mine but I am pretty sure I got my fixing kit from Halfords as I didn't use eBay then not sure about the column stalk switches though all I do remember is the wiring convention loom was a tight fit

  17. Awesome question. I've been wondering if the UK and US cruise control buttons are the same, as the button is under $20 in the US but considerably more expensive in the UK.

  18. Lenny you absolutely have to be patient fish are extremely sensitive. New tanks take at least two weeks before any fish are introduced First you need to check the ph of your water to ensure it is correct for the species you are putting in. Also the temperature is that correct? When introducing new fish put the bag of water they come in into the tank so the temperature equalises before letting them out. Make sure you have plenty of plants thriving and enough bacteria. Is your pump/filter working correctly. Temp and water quality are key and if it's wrong everything you put in will die so keep faith and remain positive Aquariums can be very frustrating but if well cared for very rewarding.

  21. Even then.. Theres nothing stopping them falling off again You can't have tried everything as what we used worked :p

  22. I've had that happen to a 2006 Fiesta. I tried everything but the only thing that worked was buying and fitting a new one.

  27. did update on tuesday and so far its like driving a different car.. MPG is up and car feels very smooth and quiet. no more stalling issues car is idling nicely at 900rpm .. def feeling a difference in it. was this others opinion of the update on the 1.6 125?
    1 point
  28. Assuming it wasn't fitted anyway, Stop/Start uses a different starter motor. Also I don't think the 1.25 was ever meant for stop start, so it will probably do it more harm than good if you somehow got it working. The light is there just so they can use the same dash across multiple models.

  29. These have been known for falling off. Best thing to do is remove it, remove the white plastic. Clips off the back And then use Tigerseal or similar to reattach. I used Bus window adhesive on the back of the girlfriends as her dad is in management at a bus company and it's going nowhere haha. Free fix

  30. I have seen loads of fiestas with these missing. if it was mine I would squirt some 'no more nails' in there and hold down firm with some tape until it dried. But make sure you don't overdo it or it will all squidge out round the edge and be difficult to clean off. I know some people will regard this as a bodge but why spend more time (and money) in doing it a different way that achieves the same result.

  32. I had to use the gunk kit once, made it about half a mile toward the garage before the tyre deflated. I'll never use it again - spare is far better.
    1 point
  33. No way I'd drive a car with no spare wheel. In my 60 odd years of driving I've had a number of punctures that the tyre repair kit would have stood no chance with. As soon as I got my current Fiesta I bought a spare.

  37. Can't believe it's now a year to the day that I collected my car It went for it's first yearly service yesterday (2nd oil change) and had the PCM and audio update whilst it was there. I'm not sure if it's my imagination, or just that I got stuck in a bit of traffic on the way out but there's more pops and bangs even in normal mode. The audio is much better now as well with a fuller sound now something is coming out the rears. Had to laugh at the tyre depth on the health check - Front's 6mm, rear 7mm. As new they're only 7.3mm. Safe to say I haven't really driven it at it's full potential over the last 5496 miles. But I've loved every one of them. After a years motoring, these are my figures:

  41. Tiny update: So after months of not washing it because driving it around the country lanes was so much fun, I finally got around to getting it clean again. The Tractor populated lanes have taken their toll though: Mudflaps doing their job: Auto finesse Avalanche, Dodo Juice Born to be mild shampoo, Dooka lambswool wash mitt and some elbow grease later: Time to go get it messy again. :)

  42. Welcome, Stunning Motor, I test drove one just to feel what a car I cant afford feels like lol and you got it in one 'Immense'. I've just picked up a ST2 TDCI Focus mainly due to the finance and cheap running costs. Wishing you many miles of joyful motoring :)

  43. All ready for TRAX, I don't normally like graphics and needless promotion, but in the spirit of the chavtastic show that is TRAX I thought I'd dip my toe in: Then fitted the "rally slag" Kaylan mudflaps to protect through the winter: I argued with myself for months whether to fit them or not. Now they're on I think they're quite good. Then at the show: Next to mates Fiesta ST: Walking back to the car at one point, noticed a few people just stood staring at it. Probably saying "Didn't realise it was so metallic" as that's the usual comment..

  44. Not really dome much with the little beastie since the above - put on some black wheel nuts and lockers - think it looks better all black. OEM Black During prep for Ford Fair, a Focus ST owner from up the road came to have a chat about it as he'd not seen one before. Caught up with him as Silverstone so that was cool: Had it at the end of the Ford Fair stand

  45. Decontaminated it with snow foam, 2BM Tardis and Korrosol mostly with plenty of rinses and additional Farcala detox shampoo washes. Think I must have washed it at least 5 times! Then today was AF Rejuvinate, Poorboys White Diamond topped up with AF Spirit wax. It looks amazing. Arty: Then I went out for a drive in the rain and ruined the look as I couldn't resist driving it!
