  1. Perhaps someone can inform me, or maybe tell me to go inform myself... But is anyone else tired of hearing about Hillsborough Hillsborough Hillsborough? Please don't think I don't care about the victims nor victims families - and perhaps not being a Liverpudlian, nor a football fan, nor aware of the worlds goings on back then, I perhaps have missed the point altogether. Does anyone know any victims or victims families etc? Is this like the whole MH370 missing plane thing to them? From where I stand in my ill informed position, seems to be the police let too many people into the stadium, then those too many people - (trying not to be unkind here), were just ill behaved and pushed to get in..... Everyone seems to be pointing fingers at the police, but like the London underground, or indeed any other tube station (I've been in a few round the world) - if s**t is full... it's full... pushing won't help... I don't know, you'd be right if you stated I wouldn't dare say that to the families.... I'm not one for trying to add to folks pain.. and I am more caring than this post probably lets on... it's just this whole court case side of things - who really won? Is everyone happy?

  2. So i havnt posted any updates on my car recently so il pick up where i left off. Since the last time i have installed quite a few new mods as listed:- - Milltek Exhaust Best modification to the var by far i would recommend this exhaust to anybody as the exhaust is not as loud granted as others but sounds the best, there is no drone and has that orgasmic rasp that this little hot hatch deserves and the odd pop to if you hoon around for long enough hehe. - BR Motorsports CAIS Induction Kit Another great mod and cheap to at £150 it is the best value for money induction kit there is out there if your on a budget and it includes the primary induction hose in that price too. - Front and Rear lights Tinted inc Fogs and Vinyl eyebrows fitted I chose to have the eyebrows fitted so no paint will be rubbed off my bumper and for the flush look and also the cost of the TRC ones. This mod just makes the car extremely evil - TRC Splitter This just adds to the cars more mean stance now it looks ace when your stood in front of it and when you see it behind you it would make you pee a little then pull on to the hard shoulder to let me past. - Carbon Wrapped Mirrors and interior trim Everyone loves CARBON!! - Mountune Spoiler extensions And on to making the back of the car look alot meaner so i got my spoiler extensions and of course to be different i got them wrapped in carbon fibre and kept the matte black for the fins - R-Sport Decat I needed more pops and bangs in my life so i was weighing up the differences between a milltek decat and an r-sport one and the only difference i found was the price so i saves myself £80 and got an r-sport one and for the mil cheat a £10 off ebay and its the exact same one that pumaspeed buy in to sell on for near enough 4x the amount. this is still yet to be fitted as work had been packed so not been able to get it in so i will have to book time off to go in and do it this week. - 6000k HID bulbs and 6000k Cree LED Projector Fog Light Blubs - LED Reverse Lights - Swapped all 4 sh*tty Bridgestones for Continental SportContact5s Only cost me £40 and already had 2 sat at work so i banged all 4 on as my two fronts were quite low and yes i know they are the incorrect speed rating but i don't think il be going 150mph+ in the uk anyway. I will let these run down and then 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 3's or PS4's if there do them in our size at the time. - Focus ST Clear High Level Brake Light and Short Ariel i have no photos of the ariel but im sure you all know what a shortened ariel looks like - Mountune Rear Engine Mount On order at the moment should be fitted within the next few weeks Thats all i have done for now but the plans for the very near future are:- - Collins Performance Stage 2 230hp+ - Mountune Quick Shift - H&R 30mm Lowering Springs - Painted Engine Cover - Gloss Black Plastics - Front Bumper and bonnet respray and stone guard fitted (F***ing stone chips) And after all my hard work i went out one dinner time to go and get my lunch from tesco and some stupid cow was too impatient when i was waiting to reverse into a spot and she clipped my rear bumper, smashed my reflector and popped the bumper out and to top it of a few massive dirty great big scratches which on some are down to the plastic. Luckily i had a spare reflector at work and the bumper just popped back in and most of the scratches polished out but will need a proper machine polish and touch in/possible respray depending on price, at least the back end is now back to normal Thats all for now il try not leave is as long in putting up progress reports but Stitch is coming along nicely

  4. Cat 5 is fine for gigabit, but you need all 8 wires connected. On most cables you can see if it is 4 or 8 wire by looking at the connector as they are usually transparent. I've run Cat 6 to the other end of the house, but only because it is a long run through the loft and past lots of electric cables. Even if Cat 7 can carry 7 gigabit, the connection will only be as fast as the ports at each end. The network negotiation basically connects at the highest speed of the slowest component, be it cable or ports.

  6. Hi guys, Had my fez just over 6 months now and still living every moment of it. Still amazes me that this tiny 1.0 engine has that much go. Since the day I picked it up I ha e been doing the odd mod, the car had only done 4 miles when the triple R front splitter was added. Below are a list of mods that have currently been fitted to my car. And a couple of pictures. -TRIPLE R FRONT SPLITTER -BLUE INTERNAL LED'S -CUSTOM BACK BOX AND TIPS -ST REAR VALANCE -ILLUMINATE GEAR KNOB -ZETEC S STEARING WHEEL BADGE -MOUNTUNE REAR SPOILER EXTENSIONS -ST FRONT GRILL BADGE, this was an interim measure. I now have the kit for a white zetec s badge which I am in the middle of fitting Next little mod will hopefully be the mountune induction kit

  9. I absolutely agree. In that instance, yes the police should have attended immediately after receiving the call, but the driver also shouldn't have been driving like a back-side and crashed in the first place.

  10. I do like finally driving my 405!! Since I was 8 years old I wanted a 405 but until now I only wanted one because they were somewhat rare and beautiful looking cars, I had no idea how they performed or handled... But now I do, I love the car 10x more!! Initially it felt a bit "strangled", but after giving the engine a bit of a clear out (30-60 in 3rd gear, full throttle) the throttle response and pulling power has increased a lot. With the previous owner it sat unused for long periods of time and my mother isn't exactly the most energetic driver (gear changes before 3,000RPM and a quarter throttle at most), so it isn't surprising that the old IDI was in need of a "reawakening". Anyway, my confidence has increased significantly having done over 200 miles and driving through Aberdeen during rush hour (plus country roads, small towns, villages and back roads), so the roundabouts that I was nervous about before are now no problem at all. Of course I still need to perfect aspects of my driving, and get up to scratch for the test, but at least now my anxiety is no longer an issue. I can focus solely on learning the skills with my instructor and perfecting them in my car. I also pulled over and got some pictures of the Scottish countryside, which I also like... Yes, the sunroof is taped shut as the brackets have been removed and it rattles at high speeds! Finally behind the wheel of my very own Peugeot 405 - lets just pray that it goes through the MOT next month!!

  11. we use all the catch up and some apps on our samsung, itv, iplayer, 4 od, netflix, amazon prime, youtube, etc , actually we use that more than the freeview some weeks.

  12. Samsung are, AKAIK, the only manufacturer to offer all the major catchup services ie BBC iPlayer ITVPlayer etc etc and it was a deciding factor in the choice of new TV in our house.

  14. It's one of those subjects that is difficult to discuss without sounding like a knob... To me, to pin the entire thing on a person or police is somewhat wrong... For instance there was that crash last year where a car left the road in Scotland, driver died, women was in the car for several days, eventually she died... It's tragic and there were police failings - or call handler failings... however no one seemed to want to question the cause of the accident in the first place... Yes police (I use that as a general term to incorporate call centre etc) didn't hold up their end of the deal, however had the driver not crashed in the first place nothing would have happened... A bit of a combination if you ask me... Hillsborough, ok, maybe police let too many in...but fans surely have a duty to not behave like animals, they appear to have done very little to help the situation... I dunno, as I said, I probably don't know enough about it to really be allowed to have an opinion, but I just get concerned about the money spent on finding a guy to blame for what appears to be a culmination of events leading to a tragic accident....

  15. You can be a named main driver. You have to notify the insurance company that the main driver will be you on your wife's car. My parents did this for ages. My mums car was in my dads name he was also policy holder but my mum was main driver.
    1 point
  16. In actual fact, I think (99% sure) you've got both bits wrong - in a good way... If you're a named driver you have just as much 'right' to drive the car as the policy holder, and you can also be the policy holder on a car that is owned by someone else (or if they are the registered keeper)... So, your new car can still be registered in your name... and you can be a named driver on your wifes policy for her car and still drive it as if it's your own.... Main thing is to have two policies, 1 in your name and 1 in wifeys name as you can only use NCB on one policy (if you have 2 policies in your name). On that last point though, if you can prove NCB on another policy most insurers will offer you some sort of unnoficial 'NCB' discount...

  17. What about a multi car policy with you as main? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  18. Speak to your insurance company. I think you could be the main driver even though the car is registered in your wife's name. It's worth a phone call and best to check before transferring ownership as that would increase the number of owners shown on the V5 registration document.

  19. Yes i checked it and its right, the nic card will only take 100Mbps so that the problem there. I know i have AC on the WiFi but i can only get around 130 to 150 so is this down to how good the card is for wifi.

  24. Back for another wee update :D putting my new RS REP wheels on today and cars booked into bodyshop for the start of the new body kit going on also getting new exhaust system build :)

  25. nope only a optional extra the only model with dab standard is Titanium :)

  26. So after many delays, I have finally got the new exhaust! It's not a whole system, all they do is cut the pipe from about half way down the car and take the back box off, replace it with a Powerflow pipe and twin tips. They also cut up into the valance a tad just so that the tips don't sit really low, think it makes it look a lot smarter I think! Now I'm gunna be honest, it is a bit louder than I thought it was going to be... Which I'm not too annoyed about but down a narrow street it really does deafen you a bit Let me know what you guys think!

  28. I do like finally doing what I wanted to do 3 years ago... But, you know what they say - "good things come to those who wait". As a side note, I'd definitely recommend any learner drivers wanting to get experience to check out Admiral, as they do 30, 60 and 90 day policies which are reasonably priced and don't tie you into a 12 month contract like a traditional insurance policy.

  32. You do not have the regular Mark (commonly abbreviated to MK) 7, you have the MK7 Facelift which is also referred to as MK7.5. This is the current/latest generation of the Fiesta. However I and everyone else on this forum maybe incorrect as to which mark you have without actually seeing your vehicle, as you may have a later manufactured Mark 7; please see photos below to identify your mark. Unusually your mark is known as the MK7.5 in the UK, however in other European countries and even the United States (the Fiesta is now sold in the states again) it is not referred to as a Mk7 but a Mk6/Sixth Generation. This is the case because in the UK the Mark IV/4 Facelift was commonly referred to as a Mk5 rather than Mk4.5; because of this, in the UK the Mark 5 is known as the Mk6 and Mk6.5 accordingly hence the next generation being referred to as Mk7. I say unusually at the start of this paragraph because this is rarely occurs in a car's mark naming process. As a result of this, you need to be careful when ordering parts as the retailer may use either UK's mark naming convention or the international one. For illustration purposes, here's the difference between the Mark 7 and 7 Facelift. The Mark 7 is the first photo, the Mark 7 Facelift (MK7.5) is the second photo. (NOTE: The photo of the Mk7.5 has eye-lids on, this is NOT OEM standard.) Sources: MK7 from Wikimedia | MK7.5 from TRC All the best. :)

  33. One type of petrol station I always try to avoid is the small deserted ones. I always imagine the fuel to have sat in their tanks for weeks and to be stale and dirty. Perhaps that is a misconception but that's how my mind works. Plus they normally have ridiculously high prices (over £1.20 per litre!).

  39. Accelerating out of corners isn't something I have trouble with. Braking for them though...just wastes fuel!! I hate the argument of 'see they didn't get any further' when overtaking on B roads, I mainly do it for a smoother drive, really annoys me when people are jumping on the brakes at every corner but then flooring it down the straights so I can't overtake.

  41. Pictures or a video would help illustrate your point Tom . . . generally, if you cross someone elses path you give way to them - unless road signs dictate otherwise. I would have to see the junction in question to give a definitive answer. What do you mean by '' coasted '' ?
