  1. The satnav warning screen is a legal requirement and can't be disabled. Emergency assistance is a safety feature that calls emergency services and your nominated ICE contact in the case of a RTC and is a very sensible option to have activated. Sent from my SM-G930F

  3. All non-management staff on FOC are volunteers and therefore we give our free time to help run the forum. There are over 50 different sections on this forum to categorise threads and ensure you are receiving the most appropriate responses. The General Chat forum is ONLY for threads which DO NOT fit any other category. If your thread is anything do to with a specific model, it should go in the relevant model club section. If related to Fords in general, in the General Ford forum, etc. We have spent longer moving threads out of general chat and in to the correct section than anything else on the forum, but this will no longer be the case. In future, any thread which is not general chat, i.e. related to Fords or fits in another category will be deleted without warning.

  4. It's a bit of a pain when at work you can be going from warm vehicle, to cold outside, inside to buildings, outside to cold, and back into a warm vehicle. Means you don't know whether to wear a coat or not!

  7. if the first answer does not fix it (I have known that to work before) the you need to get to the wiring connectors on the starter motor and test for voltage

  8. I agree ^^^^ Best to get it all done at the same time as the pump is exposed to get to. Some cars run the pump off the cam belt so if the pump goes 6 months after the belt was done it's twice the job and then two belts! For the sake of about £36 off eBay it's mad not to do it!! Hope this helps.

  12. Mine has dropped from 48 to 44 over the winter. Warming up in cold temos uses more fuel plus using heated seats and screen will also add to consumption. Never manged more than 48 though i do tend to rag it a bit.

  15. A 35mm drop should be fine on standard shocks, speaking from experience I wouldn't go any lower though as it might put extra stress on your existing shocks, coilovers would be a better option if you wanted to do that.

  17. I received my second hand EGR valve from EBAY and set about disconnecting the motor unit from the valve body, so that I could clean it properly. I have attached a pdf file showing what I did. It turns out to be very easy to strip apart and clean, and if I had had the knowledge I have now, I would have just cleaned that valve and put it back on the car. Hopefully this will be of help to other who are having the same problems. My next step will be to take my own valve off the car, clean it to ensure there is free movement and refit it. However, I think I will still refit it with the blank. I can then forget about it for the life of the car - I hope!! My thanks to TDCI Peter for the wiring diagram for the EGR motor unit, which in the end I didn't need as I was able to open the valve as shown in the pdf document. However, very useful to have. 19. Well the all mighty update v3.10 is here before i was sending the download link only for Language pack 2 and via PM. But now it is already available for all other language packs. I have used the original Language Pack2 update and edited it for all other EU language packs that were available on the Russian site: chipford.ru The installation is the same as before so: 1. Download and unzip onto USB stick (formatted to FAT32) 2. On the USB stick you should have only: "SyncMyRide" folder and "autoinstall.lst" file 3. Start your car, engine must be running all the time 4. Plugin the USB in you car and the installation will start automatic. Installation time approx. 22 minutes. After the installation the SYNC will have no saved data from Phone or Navigation - so you have to set it up all again. For those who have the NAVIGATION activated additionally - you won't loose it after this USB update. And of course, UPDATE ON YOUR OWN RISK ! DOWNLOAD LINKS: EU Language Pack 1 - German, English (British), Russian, Turkish: https://mega.nz/#!wUgHySTC!i2YQMUxLhTQiBrjnNYQ1TsZSGqSBRa1LEOepfFpb1Mw EU Language Pack 2 - German, English (British), Russian: https://mega.nz/#!gRICRBrB!9JNa7d3_3Mn2SEZ-iKyfY4ac6scb4UjogmEwdke5B_I EU Language Pack 3 - German, English (British), French, Italian: https://mega.nz/#!4YRDDRLD!tZMhM-o8nAJ-pJSgrfqX3XpYqeiX4DEZ15UCnB1LwUY EU Language Pack 4 - German, English (British), French, Swedish: https://mega.nz/#!1RhW0RpC!AKl1rA96-kc3zYUdOjWKJP4yxjj4uqKlrPCyKCPzPeo EU Language Pack 5 - English (British), Spanish, French, Portuguese: https://mega.nz/#!cc4HSKwa!2evt2tQmfe8deCfyHZgsfCkkkB77lp5r5o_yra9Y31A EU Language Pack 6 - German, English (British), French, Dutch: https://mega.nz/#!dA4QDRZS!WsA-gbxK-MZjMGp9plZSjIYUhd6us_nWQAzLiNKW4p8 AND it is not suitable for North American My Ford Touch !

  20. Lol thanks. Yea I'm seriously enjoying the car right now. Looks and sounds great. I've had the cap on the air filter for a while now but took it off there at lunch. Lovely induction sound. Yep that's the osram hyper blues. I don't really notice the blue glare until I stand far enough back or, like in that image, stand sorta down low. But it does look kinda cool. 21. Why are you doing this to me? Everytime I look at these pics I'm thinking "where the hell can I get some money to buy a new car?" lol Btw, did you get that blue glare in the headlights from the Osram Blue Hypers? I'm just asking because I saw it many times on other cars, but I never noticed it on mine...no matter what bulbs I used...(I'm talking about original headlights, not the angel eyes with projectors, obviously you won't see it there)

  28. Sorry The Haynes figure of 23mm does apply to the 1.6TDCI, 2005 to 2009, so it looks like you are marginal there (Haynes is not always 100% reliable, but in matters like this it is usually pretty good). I would wait for better weather (unless you have a heated garage), just before the MoT. 0.1 or 0.2 of a mm is not going to suddenly cause a catastrophic failure. For the rears, you probably need to remove the caliper & pads. Then the disk should pivot out enough to get a mike on without removing the caliper bracket. You really need to see what you are measuring, to avoid measuring the outer ridge. The mud shield (backplate) is likely to be very difficult to remove, maybe impossible with the disk in situ.

  31. Got my MK V on Friday, and I gotta say Im mighty impressed at her. Handling is fantastic, I even took her down a winding country road, very precise and agile. As for the lights, Ford must have changed the bulbs, i was on a stretch of unlit motorway at night and had perfect lighting. Yes I'm sure the fancy LED lights are brighter, but I cannot complain about the non LEDs in this car. Really like the look of the car, outside and inside. SYNC 3 is also fantastic to use as well. Just my opinion of course, but its one mighty fine car.

  33. Yes I understand all of that. I'm only talking going about inch lower porbably so not too far from what I have now. I'd love to see what 19s would look like with the springs I have now. I know the tyre has to match to keep the overall diameter but it may give the illusion of the gap being lesser. As it stand now though with the spacers it looks excellent so I'm not pushed to change anything really. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

  35. I did that to the wife's car, didn't tell her until the day before we had to sign and I only told her then cos it was her car lol. She had a two yr old 1.0l eco 125 in white, think it was a tit with low mileage. Dealer rang me and said he could do a good deal on another new fiesta but this time in red and a tit X, same engine. Worked out to be £11 less a month for a newer better spec car! So I jumped at the chance, the wife was proper ***** off though, saying I didn't need to swap it as nothing wrong with her current car. 1 week into the swap and she prefers the new one Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  36. that is pretty shabby practice trying to sell a car for that kind of money and age with only one key and the satnav card missing. that's the sort of thing which gives car dealers a bad name. you had better make sure you don't lose the one key before you get a 2nd one. On a car that cost a few hundred quid you might take a chance on one key but you are going to be gutted if you lose it for that car

  39. I had exactly the same symptoms as Coxie. In my case the problem turned out to be the solenoids located top right of the engine which control (using manifold vacuum) the airflow in the inlet manifold. As there are two identical solenoids, I switched them over to see if the fault changed, and it actually went away so I presume one of the valves is not monitored. As least my intermittent P2008 fault had gone. I replaced both solenoids with a Engine Air Shutoff Control, Ford part no 1357313, cost £61.78 Hope this help somebody
