As an Officer myself I can't comment on their procedures as they do vary by force however the speed cameras in the cars can pick you out from over half a mile away (can't divulge the actual technical specs). Traffic cops are known for being 'keen' though and you'll never win an argument with them as they know traffic laws inside out. The law is changing this month whereby the 10% leeway is being dismissed so be aware. The dome at the base of the windscreen between the vents is the sunlight sensor for the auto climate control. It measures the strength of the sun and the CC will adjust the fan speed and air direction accordingly whilst also taking into consideration the temp you have set. Many people do not know what the dome is for, someone said to me recently they thought it was a compass for the sat nav.

Bonnet lock isn't hard to remove just ease tue 2 platis clips apart n it pulls out. Will make sence once u r looking ar it. make sure you dont allow it to drop down once youve freed it from the upper grill as the weight can pull it n disconnect it from the bodwen cable.

Yea that's the plan. Although i still have a few things I'd like to do/get for the car now. I'll be wrapping it over the Easter break on my own time then I'll prob get the wheels done in panther black. Other thing I've been thinking about is just getting the standard back box modified for a mock dual exit and eventually some nice gel badges to tie it all together. Sure don't ya have fine looking car as it is. The only part of the mk3 I don't like is the front grills( some people don't like the open fish mouth of the mk2.5) but the rest of the car as standard looks nice and you done a great job modding yours. I would wait until next year to get the mk3 st when the mk4 is out. I am the same myself. I only buy cars when I have the amount for it in my Bank Account.

Interesting point about the MK4. i suspect it'll be too expensive for me to jump into a brand new. I prefer to buy my cars outright than finance them. Hopefully with the MK4 coming out the MK3s will drop in price a good bit. Right now im looking at about 13k for the right ST3 Estate.

it's good you spotted it now. if not the split would probably have got worse and let in loads of dirt/water and ruined the CV joint itself. Alas, fitting a new one is not a 5 minute job and the labour is much more than the part. Ive done it twice as went to a zetec s grill then the 1 i currently got.. its straight forward n simple. The bonnet lock is basically held in by 2 big plastic lugs n u just pry em apart wi a flat head screw driver n pull gently back n it pops out. Just make sure not to let it then drop down on its own as i did n it disconnected the bowden cable from the act lock mechanism...

Maybe get yourself a stainless steel exhaust and an induction kit to drown the road noise out 😉

As for the job, too many hours, too little pay and increasingly more resolved in believing most people in the world are utterly stupid. I think that probably sums up just about everyone's job regardless of whatever it is they do :D

I think you should wait until the mk4 Focus comes out next year which will lead to the mk3 been heavily discounted. Sure if the mk4 is a much better car which I will expect it to be you could get that instead. I was going to get a normal mk3 myself in the summer but with the new car coming next year I would of been cursing myself for not waiting.

Smart choice. Really. Admitedly, it would be so much fun to drive the ST, but since you're saving up for another ST, you get there anyway. I drove ST estate (even the diesel/automatic one) and it was sooo much fun to drive, it just went whereever I pointed it to and the sound was amazing! It's much quieter inside than the MK2 (which you already know since you now have the MK3), but the engine sound is just exactly where you want it to be...I don't know if that makes any sense, lol, but you just hear it when you are expected to hear it, at a volume you're expected to hear it... So what I wanted to say is that you don't have to beat yourself up for missing out on the ST, the MK3 ST will make up for it plenty eventually

"Nightbreaker plus unlimited" are the latest version, Osram Cool Blue would be more white than the nightbreaker but not as bright. Id put cool blue in dipped beam and fogs with nightbreaker in the high beam

I chickened out! I didn't go to see the car lol i just sat thinking about it and come to the conclusion that if i went to drive it i would return home cursing the car that i have for being so slow lol I also don't want to just 'settle' for any ST. So im going to save a bitta cash and wait for the ST3 Estate. That is a dream car of mine so id be better to wait. Im perfectly contented with the car i have though. I do like realising I haven't had an energy drink or cup of coffee for over 2 weeks! I've still been consuming caffeine through soft drinks and tea, but at a much reduced rate to before. Hopefully by the time I go back to work I can start using caffeine for energy boosts rather than just to feel normal.

I swapped from diesel to petrol a week and a half ago, not long enough I know to form a proper opinion but my tuppence worth anyway. My previous car a 02 focus ghia 1.8 tdi I had since new, was reliable as heck for the best part 14 years, a new clutch fitted 16 months ago after 80000 mls, a new battery installed last month and it is still running on the original exhaust that it came out of the factory with. No rust on the bodywork and engine although a bit noisier and rattly these days still starts first turn of the key so all in all one of the most reliable cars I've had in 50 yrs driving. It was time for a change of car for me and being a Scotsman and tight fisted I wanted a car with no road tax so I decided on a 1.0l fiesta ecoboost, the dealer's offer on my old car was insulting so I gave it away to my daughter as she couldn't afford a car at the moment. The fiesta ecoboost performs well enough for me, acceleration is feels as nippy as the focus was and fuel consumption is better than the focus, it sits at 65-70mph quite comfortably on motorway. I don't go into the city much by car, parking is horrendous, I just take the bus (free bus pass😀). I have no intention of modding or customising, the bonus for me is no road tax to the government😆. I hope I don't regret the swap

Swapping the engine, whilst possible, is going to be far more difficult and expensive. You'd need to change so much (right down to the filler nozzle) that you would need a donor car anyway.

Appreciate the advice, a few friends were saying I was mad to attempt it but I'm stubborn like that So lessons learnt: regular rest stops, eat pasties, pee every 20 mins, look longingly at cars with cruise control, invent car games to relieve the boredom, pray to the motorway Gods that there are no accidents en route and make sure the hotel has a cold glass of something ready the second I arrive! That's because you drive a performance car Those who drive a slow N/A petrol like me probably won't notice much difference (if any) when switching to a higher octane fuel.

Pretty much the lowest octane i've run in mine is 97 ron apart from a couple of months ago when all I could find between Southampton and Poole was 95 ron. I was on 20 miles range so pretty much a full tank of 95 and I definitely felt the difference. I know some people aren't convinced that performance fuels make much difference but I can definitely feel when it's 95 and not 99. Sent from my SM-G930F

Wow I'd never pay 13p extra per litre for my motion lotion, I'm tight AF, it would have to give me 10mpg extra for me to buy it, at the end of the day my supermarket petrol still gets me to 70 mph also.

carparts4less and eurocarparts are the same company, their online customer service is utterly horrendous but the staff in the eurocarparts stores (stores that Halfords actually order their parts from) are much better. personally I get the online discounts then pck it up in store for the good service.

Make sure you try on with thick socks, they can be a bit snug.

i can remember when eurocarparts used so sell the triple qx oil at £19.99, now they have it marked up at £32 (or £22 with this weeks discount code) its a good oil aswell as never had any probs with the oil changes that i`ve done on my mates cars through the year mind you quick look on ebay and you`ll find triple qx at £20

So it's been day 2 of the ST and loving it. The moding started today and achieved pretty much all of it. Induction done. Symposer delete done. Washers done. Gloss black interior also done.

its from the crankcase breather hose all the blow through from the crankcase is blown through the hose whre the clean air is pulled back into the air intake the oil vapour is left on the spongue without it the air filter would get covered in oil
