WHen you depress the clutch pedal the engine should auomatically restart. Congratulations.3 points

Aye mate, most of my friends did the same things, bought alfa's and the likes and wrapped them around lampposts and other inanimate objects. I'm 28 so have a more sensible frame of mind and i value my life and car haha. Thanks for the heads up though.3 points

Just passed your test and you buy a Zetec S ? Be-careful out there and try not to right the car off or harm yourself I've known loads of people pass their test and brag off about their new car, some buy a low powered cars but many buy sports cars only to crash it a month on. My Sons mate passed his test and he got a 208 GTI and all he did was brag & brag, a week later he wrote it off going around a bend. Sorry for the negativity but everyone prangs their first car, that's why parents tell their kids to buy a cheap car as you'll prang it. Stay safe3 points

She should be made to catch the bus for the rest of her life. If it were a male driver, I bet his sentence would have been at least three times as harsh. But sexism only works in one direction!2 points

I passed my test 50 years ago and still haven't pranged it yet, I think if you become over-cautious and keep worrying you will eventually prang it. By passing your test you have proved you can be a responsible driver. Just take care and try not to do any daft stunts when mates in the car try to encourage you to do so. Anyone wrapping their car around a lampost etc because of speed proves poor driving skill, it's not the crar that is dangerous, it is the person behind the wheel controlling it. Enjoy the car and leave road rage at home. It's your licence you worked hard to get it so look after it, no-one can take it away from you unless you deserve it. Enjoy your new found freedom.2 points

Dash cams not recording speed is rarely a problem, as most accidents (especially in town) aren't solely due to excessive speed. Yes, speed in many accidents exacerbates the crash that was going to happen anyway, but in town most of the crashes are simply people carrying out dangerous manoeuvres. So that idiot who pulls out on you, or the moron who cuts you up, or the expletive who drives aggressively, or the cyclist who has no lights. They are great for irrefutably recording what actually happened at that point in time. For the sake of £70 or £80 to buy a half decent camera, I think they are well worth it.2 points

I was 29 when I passed my test [first attempt]. I bought a Ford Escort 1.6 and wrote it off within two weeks.2 points

I meant the next update will be F6. Not that it is out yet. But when I bought my Focus 2 weeks ago, the dealer mentioned the F6-update was on its way. But I don't know how soon :)2 points

I'm exactly the same, especially on that stretch of road. If there are no other cars in front I get up to 60 as quick as possible and then set the cruise control. If a police car was behind me though they would probably think that my rate of acceleration was extreme and a precursor to exceeding the speed limit. More so the 623 in that reference, I doubt any police car would consider the 405s acceleration to be brisk... 0-60 in just under 15 years, I mean seconds...2 points

You can easily find out if your car has Hill Start Assist. Find a hill and drive halfway up and stop. Hold down the footbrake with the handbrake off and take your foot off the footbrake. If your car stays where it is you have Hill Start Assist. If it rolls back you haven't.2 points

There is likely more to one-touch operation than just the switch - something needs to detect the window having closed to turn itself off. That's not to say replacing the switch wouldn't be all that's required though; the wiring and whatever module is responsible might already be there ready and waiting. Incidentally, is the passenger side switch definitely not one-touch also? I only ask because our Titanium (admittedly a 2013 model) has one-touch on both sides.2 points

I took my eye of the ball and hit a wall! Wrote it off...the chassis was twisted beyond repair. I bought it off a mechanic who had made some *cough* 'minor adjustments' *cough* After I got the insurance payout, I bought a 2 litre Cortina Ghia in red, with a Weber carburetor and the plushest interior I have ever seen. .1 point

Thanks man, it's too true though, lots of younger minded men showing off in front of pals are what cause a lot of issues with younger drivers.1 point

Enter your reg into ford etis. It'll tell you if it has hill start assist :) I binned my mk6 fiesta 12 days after passing my test. Learnt from it, scrapped the car and bought an identical one so the girlfriends parents didn't find out. Two years down the line I've got a ZS. It's not just a zetec with a body kit, the ecoboost also has 25ps more than the "standard" zetec unless Is specced otherwise They grip like glue round corners, but even So it doesn't take long to find the limit as you'll feel well before it goes. Safe driving and enjoy the new car!1 point

It's called the attitude test. Treat us with courtesy and we reciprocate. Treat us like crap and give us attitude and we're far less likely to be flexible. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk1 point

If I stall my Fiesta 1.5tdci with stop/start it restarts when I press the clutch.1 point

It`s just as stupid on the Autobahn, just not illegal under certain circumstances. The latter is significant. People say oh you can drive as fast as you like on German motorways, but that`s not true if the Police consider it dangerous, which, I assume, means if there`s any other traffic on there. I always assumed that was the case but whilst on holiday some Germans we met there confirmed it. If a driver was doing 15omph and passing other traffic at a closing speed of 70mph plus, he`d get done, not for speeding, but for dangerous driving, and rightly so.1 point

Above clip never fails to make me laugh. At least its only a Peugeot. Now to get back on topic, perhaps a strong hoover would help get some of it out?1 point

I've passed my test 7 and a half months ago, hav not hit anything yet...not everyone is the same. One of my friends has a 65 plate Fiesta Titanium as his first car, hes done about 10k miles in a year in it and hasn't had any issues, the only dent in it was caused by someone else in a car park! Plus a ZS is only a Zetec with a body kit, not exactly a 208 GTI as you describe! A GTI is excessive as a first car. The ZS ounds like the perfect first car if you ask me. I'd rather be driving a newer, safer car as a new driver if the worst happens and I'm involved in an accident. Congrats OP on passing, won't take long to get into the swing of things properly. When I was learning I stalled my Focus a few times, strangely putting the car into neutral and releasing the clutch, then pressing the clutch again seemeseemed to restart the car unless it said "manual restart required" not sure if there's a similar system in the Fiesta or not.1 point

I think most of the time its all about your opening attitude to the police. Sometimes I guess you will get a stubborn one. However to the OP, you know you did wrong and if you only recently passed your test then technically you should know better? I can still hear my instructors voice in my head ☺️ But your car probably made them want to stop you even more. I only passed last year at the age of 31, but I knew for that first year especially to keep to those limits. I know most people hate speed limits but they are there for a reason and nobody can grumble should they get caught.1 point

I'm looking at keeping the springs but moving to Bilstein B8 shocks :)1 point

The systems light comes on for lots of other causes than the DPF, and many will not show up on a generic OBD2 reader. You probably need to try a Ford specific system like FORScan. On my car the P0299 Turbo underboost error very occasionally appears, puts the systems light on, but has no effect on the car. My generic reader won't see it, but Forscan can, and clears it. Forscan will also show up a lot of info about the DPF, like distance to nominal "ashfull", distance from last regen, etc.1 point

So a little bit of an update. I managed to get bag some lowering springs last week relatively company from someone that had swapped their Focus ST for a Fiesta ST. Normally I would go for Eibach but these H&R springs came in right and after researching stance I took the dive. Upon fitting these I found one of the front springs were snapped "/ I have unavoidably hit some pot holes over the last few weeks so this may have contributed to the shocking affects. I am tempted to right to the council to try and get some money back but I know these can be long winded processes. Once these were fitted I gave the car a real good spanking as it was in much need of one and took it out for photos :D Then tonight I managed to get the much anticipated Velossa Tech Big Mouth installed. It was delivered yesterday by DreamScience but I was away from home so unboxed and fitted tonight. Definitely a noticeable change in induction volume but I have not drove it yet although I highly doubt I will see any performance changes. C&C Welcome :) Don't mention the dust lying on the bonnet ;)1 point

I've had good experiences and bad experiences with the police and in hindsight the bad experiences where often a reflection of my mood at the time. If I was arguing black was white or just being a bit of a di ck then the officers just matched my attitude, if I kept quiet and nodded in the right places regardless of what I thought the whole thing was a lot easier. To be fair to the police they often pull over lads in modded cars to check everything is done within the law and it also shows a presence. A police stop and a friendly chat about your car can go a long way to build good PR. Obviously in your case it wasn't the best experience and perhaps a little harsh to give a ticket for doing 34. Saying that though 30 is the limit and they are entitled to stop you at 31, but where is the line? If the limit is 30 then it should be anything over 30. Previous leniency encourages people to go over the limit. I do not claim that I do not speed, I do speed. I probably speed on every journey I make to one degree or another, not excessively. I can't say I do it 'when it is safe' because when is it ever 'safe' to drive fast? I was once caught doing over 110mph on the M6 at 3am so I am in no position to comment on speeding. A recent incident very locally has really opened my eyes to the significance of driving a few miles an hour over a speed limit, a very young boy was struck by a van in a small close and was fatally injured, I never want to be behind the wheel in that situation knowing I had been speeding. What format are the usb drives? Have you plugged them into your computer/laptop and then run the chkdsk utility? You may find that USB drives in certain formats (NTFS/exFAT) may not be readable, but FAT32 should be ok.1 point

As an Officer myself I can't comment on their procedures as they do vary by force however the speed cameras in the cars can pick you out from over half a mile away (can't divulge the actual technical specs). Traffic cops are known for being 'keen' though and you'll never win an argument with them as they know traffic laws inside out. The law is changing this month whereby the 10% leeway is being dismissed so be aware. Also please don't tar all of us with the same brush, I'm not looking for a knighthood, just a honest days wage like everyone else. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk1 point

Well the all mighty update v3.10 is here before i was sending the download link only for Language pack 2 and via PM. But now it is already available for all other language packs. I have used the original Language Pack2 update and edited it for all other EU language packs that were available on the Russian site: chipford.ru The installation is the same as before so: 1. Download and unzip onto USB stick (formatted to FAT32) 2. On the USB stick you should have only: "SyncMyRide" folder and "autoinstall.lst" file 3. Start your car, engine must be running all the time 4. Plugin the USB in you car and the installation will start automatic. Installation time approx. 22 minutes. After the installation the SYNC will have no saved data from Phone or Navigation - so you have to set it up all again. For those who have the NAVIGATION activated additionally - you won't loose it after this USB update. And of course, UPDATE ON YOUR OWN RISK !
