  1. I do like moving into my flat today and finally being free from my mother! I also like enjoying a glass of red and a cigarette whilst watching a great movie in said flat. Life is good...

  2. having done every 2 years means the bleed screws are opened/closed therefore reducing the likley hood of siezing up and snapping when replacing components. its suprising how hygroscopic brake fluid becomes over time

  3. Okay so NEW ADDITION.. Something i've wanted to do & have since even before getting the car.. probably is a love/hate thing but personally I love it and feel it's started to complete the rear end like the splitter did for the front! GENUINE RS MK2 SPOILER So landed on a right steal with this one.. travelled an hour to go collect what I told was an RS rep spoiler. Was going to spend £160 on it. Got there and the guy said he had just seen all the ford trademarks on the inside meaning it's a genuine RS spoiler worth 3x the price I paid easily xD Was so happy! I will now post a few pics to show a comparison between the look before and now; So just a few comparison shots to show the difference in the same sort of angle photos. I also went and took some proper photos. I used the same locations that i've used previously to show how the car has come on in time, and also the fact I need some new locations haha BRIDGE LOCATION RIVERWAY LOCATION Let me know what you think.. I'm really loving the new look and it's changed the car dramatically. I have 2 more visual mods to do in combination together which will bring the whole article together in my eyes. Won't be too long before they are on I hope. Cookie points for who can guess the right combination.. have a guess :)

  4. I do like getting back from Bristol this afternoon, in a smidgeon over 1½ hours without encountering any gridlocks or tailbacks In the amusing sense of I like, one of our engineers was relating how his mother often mishears things and had asked him yesterday "Why are there a lot of street sellers in Bristol city centre offering her larger footware?" After trying to work out what she meant, he realised the sellers were actually saying "Big Issue!" She was mishearing "Bigger Shoe!"

  5. First job - full service. all fluids, plugs, filters etc. - also if the previous owner was running an oiled panel filter / cone - it might have clogged the Mass Air Flow sensor up - had this trouble myself, a quick spray of contact cleaner and all was well. If its still running rough check the leads and coil pack (these have both) A cold air intake wont make much difference (if any) to your current set up and wont fix the issue of rougher running. If its still running rough after the above, come back and let us know and we can try and help where we can, or, visit a local trusted mechanic to have a look at things for you.

  7. Hi everyone This is my little Courier van, I chose this as it is the perfect size for my business requirements, originally looking at Caddy vans, all the ones I looked at were damaged and just not in a clean condition. I saw this advertised at my local Evans Halshaw (Hull) and went for a viewing and test drive, it's the 'Trend' model with the 1.6L engine which I hear is rarer than the 1.5, no idea if that's true. Absolutely delighted with the van, drives just like a car 👍👍 Modifications so far: • 18" Team Dynamics 'Imola' alloys • lowered 45mm • Tinted windows (Light) • Tinted side and rear indicators • 'Team Heko' wind reflectors • Upgraded LED daytime running lights • Fiesta ST interior foot pedals • Black gel overlays on Ford badges • Chrome door latch covers =============== Tons of things yet to be done, including full colour coding which is up next, along with fitting a front lower spoiler from an ST once the bumper has been painted. Here is the van at the dealers: Once home the first thing I did was tint the side and rear clear lenses along with upper brake light: I then fitted chrome door latch covers which I think is a nice touch: The windows were tinted, wind deflectors etc were fitted then I recently added the alloys and a good friend dropped the suspension for me. I spent hours and hours researching what suspension would fit perfect, there really isn't a lot on the net about these vans so I've had to put some hours in to find out the info. Here is the van as it currently stands today, I've blanked out the rear sign writing as I'm sure this would be in the rules of the forum? Hope you all like the progress so far, colour coding up next.

  9. Been a week since I picked up my Fiesta & absolutely loving it. Such a fantastic engine & chassis. Hope to learn & share as I progress with ownership over the next few years with you all. I reckon this is the best value for fun car regarding running costs available! (just traded an old £285 road tax gas guzzler) As a newbie here please expect some probably daft questions from me but I usually only need telling once! :) Take care, speak soon. P.S. edited to add - for those that may not know, my username is from the guitarist Paul Kossoff of the band Free. (that's him in the profile pic too)

  10. Hi Everybody I have just joined. I am just in the process of buying a Focus CC after having a 2004 focus hatchback for the past 5 years or so. It was a great car but was time to move on.

  11. Hello, just signed up :) I'm Kristian & I currently own a 2011 Fiesta Zetec S in black & a 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost in "Magnetic Metallic" (dark grey). I'm not going to lie - I was searching for car forums in an effort to advertise my Mustang which is currently up for sale! But...this does look like a forum I would actually use, seeing as I still have my Fiesta & keen on keeping it, modifying it potentially. I'm a big Ford fan in general, my car history is 4 x Fiesta's & the Mustang :) that's it - nothing else! Anyways, I'm off to place a classified ad... Cheers

  12. You basically only need the following parts: * 5 Inch display (FCDIM) with SD slot. The prefix of the part number must be the same as the currently installed display. * SD-card with maps. * Facia for the 5 Inch FCDIM. * Control panel with Satnav buttons (standard or SONY branded). * GPS antenna. * Fakra cable between the FCDIM and ACM. * Wires for satnav audio between the FCDIM and ACM. The ACM (Audio Control Module) itself is the same and does not need to be changed. The Satnav functions are fully integrated into the FCDIM. This is basically a standalone system from the ACM. Emergency Assistance uses the GPSM module. This module is only used for Emergency Assistance. Satnav uses a different GPS antenna that is integrated into the antenna base on top of the roof. To retrofit the original GPS antenna the antenna base and antenna cables need to be changed. Installing an aftermarket GPS antenna with Fakra connector is much easier and a lot cheaper. After all parts are fitted the system needs to be configured by changing the settings of the Central Car Configuration. If not configured correctly the 5 Inch FCDIM will still be recognised as a 4.2 Inch FCDIM and the Satnav functionality will be missing. The 5 Inch FCDIM does not fit in the 4 inch facia.

  13. But its a necessary part of a gd owners schedule as its gotta be done every 2 yr or there abouts. Makes me laugh when ppl say they dont change it as it can be a pain.. less of a pain than realising your brakes rnt working properly and potentially causing an accident surely?

  14. Depends on the Halfords you use, our one didn't have any so I popped into the maplins next door and bought a tube of silicon grease for just over £4 :)

I'm going to SJ conversion and having Simon completely redo my lights and set them up correctly that's the best advice I could say to do

  16. F104, F105, F109, F112, F118 and F120 are all connected to the same conductor inside the GEM module/fuse box. These fuses are all powered by the 60A F4 fuse which is installed at the front of the battery box. This is a permanent power supply. If your car does not have rear power windows fuse F118 or F120 can perfectly be used as a replacement for fuse F112. Fuse F130 is an ignition switched power supply. This fuse is rated at a maximum supply of 10A. The size of the wiring/conductor inside the GEM module fuse box does not allow to draw more power. You should not insert a larger fuse. Personally I would use fuse F118 or F120. If you want to use an ignition switched power you can add a relay between the wire from F118/F120 to the radio. The relay can be switched with a wire that is connected to fuse F130.

  19. All my Festas have had the low fuel warning at 50mph. When you fill the tank the computer estimates what mileage you will do at possibly he way you have driven previously. You may well find that the estimated mileage will suddenly drop.

  21. I had this same problem . Took the car to my local garage and they removed the part that was stuck and replaced the cap for £10 . I've since bought a tin of silicone lubricant and will be using that on the cap every couple of months to stop it ceasing up again. Poor design by Ford

  24. Ok, so instead of making some sort of holder I've gone for a magnetic holder. put a magnet on the center console near the gear stick and a corresponding magnetic sticker on the back of my key - hey presto - somewhere to put my key quickly and easily without it being in pocket and it's visible so I won't get out of the car without it. Pics later

  27. The pink fluid is most likely OAT or Hybrid OAT, see an explanation of the different coolant types here. As far as I am aware all coolant types are water-soluble. It may just be that the Ford long-life stuff is pre-mixed to be used "neat".

  29. Before you go any further... what you are wanting to achieve with your standard headlights is very illegal, you will blind everyone and will void your insurance. If you wish to have Xenons on your car, you need to get projectors, and you also need auto leveling and head light washers. To retrofit the Titanium X factory headlights you will still need the automatic leveling and washers, and probably a completely new loom. Without these additions again your car would be very illegal, and your insurance would be void. The bulb used in the original xenons are D3S bulbs correct. However you wouldn't be able to fit an aftermarket kit easily as the ballasts are built into the bulbs, and there is an additional collar that will go around the bulb that is required to lock it into the Ford headlight.

  30. If you do go for the bleed just be aware the front nipples need a 9mm spanner and rear 10mm i think. No idea why they were different sizes but nearly caught me out. And plus gas comes in useful if they're a bit seized and rusty!

  32. PART 1 : I don't like spilling my beer!!! Poured myself a pint in the garage, ONE sip on the way through to start cooking my tea, took a wee sausage roll to heat up while I was cooking the rest of my meal. Microwave door is a bit sticky so I gave a bit of a tug, hand slipped, beer spilt! One mouthful left! Trousers, teeshirt in the wash. PART 2 : I don't like having to fish cottonbuds out of the toilet! 4 buds in the toilet when I came to use it, only 2 people in the house of 5 suspects(6 including me, but I immediately ruled myself out of the enquiry) all denied the charge! Investigations are ongoing. PART 3 : I don't particularly like having to teach someone how to drive my truck. It's kinda part of the job and it's nothing against the driver, he's a nice fella who I really get on with but I like my own company and do things my own way. (By the way, there will be a PART 3b next Wednesday, watch this space) PART 4 : I absolutely HATE shaving! I nearly think if there were a tablet I could take that meant all your hair fell out I would take it. PART 5 : Whilst we're on the subject of tablets. I've got to the ripe old age of 52 without having to resort to much medicine apart from the odd course of anti-biotics etc I've been pretty much tablet free......until now. As a result of MS I get leg spasms at night when I go to bed so I take a couple of tablets to ease that. I recently had blood tests as part of a consultation with a neurologist and I was tested low in Iron so I'm on 3 iron tablets a day as well. I scrapped my elbow a week ago and progressively over the week it started getting sorer and a trip to the docs revealed I had bursitis, so a course of anti-inflammatories and anti-biotics means I am now taking 18 tablets a day!!!

  35. GPS is the blue fakra cable unless you have this in your car already you can buy the GPS receiver on eBay for around £6 and that works fine the issue with the reverse camera is the camera itself has to be ntsc format not pal otherwise it will not respond to the satnav display and you can use the lead in the pic above to connect it unless you have the loom already in car. The black fakra socket on the back of satnav uses the black connector of the back of your stereo unit then you run another fakra lead from the pink connector of your satnav to the black socket on the stereo unit so you can receive dab and radio then you attach 2 wires from pin 6 and 12 of your display plug to pin 4 and 5 on your head unit for nav voice hope it helps

  36. Picked up an ST headlining from Birmingham along with the trims which I'd had sitting around for a few months. Quite easy to install took about 45 mins maybe, and looks 10x better than the grey. Sorry some pics are a bit poor.

  42. Hi, The darker replacement for Electric Spice is called Canyon Ridge. It's more of an orangey colour and sits somewhere between Electric Spice and Bronze Fire. I've just taken delivery of a Sport in Bronze Fire and love the way it changes colour according to the light - ranging from a deep orange, to burgundy, to brown. I don't think it was a popular colour, so don't really expect to see another on the roads. Hey, it's good to be different!
