Hi I’ve just filled my sons 58 fiesta 1.4 with £40 petrol and it only gave him 214 miles.
That’s not good.
any advice guys?

Assuming around £1.40 per litre, that's around 34 MPG, sounds perfectly normal to me if it's a petrol.

why is he sad for starting this thread? It's a valid discussion as nowadays more and more people are trying to conserve fuel and the more miles per tank the better.. I think you will find that a lot

Thirteen year old car. How well serviced, how clean, state of tyres and driver experience can make 20% difference. My 1.0 Ecoboost does 65 mpg on a run averaging 55mph in mixed conditions but it is well shod, very clean which matters above 55 and I am old enough to know better. Average is about 50 over a tankful 480 miles.
