Mk7.5 spare

Featured Replies

It’s outrageous that Ford refuse to list the parts to solve this given the number of people who would prefer a full spare wheel and not a skinny one or a tube of gunk. Someone complained to the Consumers’ Association a while back and they forced Ford to issue a list of parts for the Mk7. But its been withdrawn and nothing at all exists for the Mk8.

A few observations in relation to Mk8:

1/ LondonFiesta’s set up has the wrong  jack, wrench and polystyrene box assembly. It may work but it isn’t what was listed for Fiesta.
2/ If one did order the ‘Fiesta’ option it would come with a skinny wheel and this would result in a dip in the boot carpet as a result.
3/ The 15” alloy on our vehicle (part number 2 238 333) does not fit snugly in the recess. It protrudes 2-3” above floor carpet level.
4/ tarbyonline’s set up may also work but his jack with long arm, separate wrench and hold all polystyrene are as in a Mondeo. All these differences stem from no official list and dealers doing their own thing. Whichever route you go, the items - jack, wrench, box assembly polystyrene etc - have to fit together.
5/ We stuck as closely to the Fiesta parts as possible, substituting only a full width wheel for the skinny one. The parts we used were:
a) 2 031 635 -  BOX ASSEMBLY - STOWAGE. A circular flat mat that sits on the floor of the recess. b) 2 176 911 - Jack AASY - LIFTING. The scissor jack with built in wrench and small plastic diamond ‘nut’ to facilitate initial removal of wrench from its transverse position on the jack. c) 2 1 45 020 - RETAINER - LIFTING JACK. The threaded bar which screws into the floor pan. It has a plastic nut locked on it so you can wind the thread in and secore the jack in position on the mat. d) 1 881 868 - a Full width 14” steel wheel fitted face up. e) A tyre - 175/65 R14 82H. f) 1 915 089 - PLATE - MOUNTING. the plastic lock nut that threads on the top of the bar (c) above) and holds the wheel secure. g) 1 739 835 - BOX ASSY - STOWAGE. The thinner polystyrene holder that holds the towing arm and funnel and which also acts as additional floor carpet packing for the centre area of the wheel.

Hope this helps.
