Best to turn off your powerfolds when there’s a risk of ice/frost

Cant be done on my car. Last winter I had both mirrors replaced under warranty.

Iirc on the Mk 8 you can change the mirrors to remain unfolded in the vehicle settings menu. My last car (non - Ford) had the facility to lock the car with one press, leaving mirrors unfolded, or fold them in by keeping the button pressed for a couple of seconds when locking.

As far as I know there is no way to set them to do this on the Mk 8, but I would like to have the choice of leaving them in or out when locking, so if anyone knows different, please post how to do it!

Hi

Getting mine today, not going to have much time to study the controls and settings due to work, I don't think its going to be that frosty tonight but it was very frosty last night when I finished work, can you tell me how exactly to get into the vehicle settings and what menu I need to disable autofold.

Thanks

Unfortunately not got the car with me to check just now.but scroll through the options using right hand steering wheel buttons. Once on vehicle settings, just scroll through the menu until you find the powerfold mirrors box to tick. Had a pic of the buttons on my phone (below) move through the screens with the big OK button, menus button to the right, back button to the left.

If all still clear as mud, easy enough to find in the handbook (paper or online)😀
