Did this issue ever get solved? My car is playing up with a similar issue - exact same trim level too

Hi Unfortunately its still ongoing!

Its been back and two a duzzen or more times since. THey have update and replaced the BCM updated and replaced the HCM but the issue is still percisting as far as I can see.

Ive just been reading through this thread and my next step I think is to insist both headlights are replaced.

Ford try and insist this is not a common issue but reading through this thread and the other it seems it is quite common. My issue has now been nearly on going a year!

I just realise my first reply didn't really add much as I was going off my experience of Auto dip and the posts title - not the fault condition you wrote.

this is clearly a dangerous safety issue and needs fixing - a dealership must never fob off a safety issue - this need to go on watchdog and a formal complaint to ford

the fix must be a faulty component and or a software glitch - and fixed under warranty - dealer's are very lazy applying much needed software fixes to cars and many ham-fisted "technicians" are not competent to do things correctly

I'd be getting a loan car and leave the car with then (having videoed the condition of every body panel, bumper, bit of trim, door mirror and wheel very thoroughly) and not take the car till they give a printout of exactly what was changed and what software was applied

Thanks, yeh its been back and two lots of time since the most recent time just after christmas they replaced the HCM i havent had the issue with the lights not working so far but still getting the check adaptive headlights message so not convinced its fixed and it will be going back again!

Final update to this.

The car went back again in Febuary and had 2 new headlights and a ford engineer sent out to it a few times over a 2 month period and a new rain sensor but the issue still percisted.

As I was coming up to over a year and a half with the issue ( and nearly a year with ford customer service involved) without a resolution ive managed to get the dealership to buy the car back. So for now my Ford / Focus experience has come to an end.

Not 100% decided on what i'm going to do next but hoping to go look at a BMW 3 series next week.
