keyless entry button on door not working

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2014 titanium x fiesta and over the last week I cannot unlock/lock my car with the button on the passengers front door. it unlocks/locks with the key and on the button on drivers front door.

Any suggestions or help to diagnose what is going on before i resort to a mechanic/electrician.

TIA

I'm fairly new to the mk4 Focus and have found the same problem.

Have since found out that the passenger side keyless entry is deactivated if the battery voltage drops a bit low.

Could be the same for a 2014 Fiesta.

They can be affected by moisture and we have had a fair bit of rain lately, mine play up,when damp a couple of dry days and they are back to normal

Just  a though you can program the keys to only open the drivers door  - have you accidently activated this:

Reprogramming the Unlocking Function

Note: When you press the unlock button
either all the doors are unlocked or only the
drivers door and the tailgate are unlocked.
Pressing the unlock button again unlocks
all the doors.

Press and hold the unlock and lock buttons
on the remote control simultaneously for
at least four seconds with the ignition off.
The direction indicators will flash twice to
confirm the change.

To return to the original unlocking function,
repeat the process

Hi

that could be the case as my stop/start doesn't activate even though it comes up green when I start it up.

Funnily enough had the same problem on my drivers side door tonight, it had been raining, so gave the door handle quick wipe and it worked again.

Evening

Been using my car today, went to lock it and thought I will just try the button on passenger door and it worked!!!!

Car is booked in with a mechanic I use for this Saturday. I have asked to check battery voltage just in case and fitting me a new set of front brake pads as well.

Lets hope it doesn't cost me as much as I think.

I think mine was just down to the handle covered with water after heavy rain.

Good luck with yours...fingers crossed its not an expensive fix 🙂

Hi all , bought a 65 plate  keyless auto fiesta last week stolen 5 days later returned today intact , i now need to reprogramme the fobs is this something i can do or is it a main dealer job , cheers

Hi James pleased you got your car back undamaged. Is it just the remote lock / unlock of the keyfob you need to re-programme?

YouTube:

hi thanks for the quick reply, i was told i had to reprogamme asap in case thieves came

all new to me never had a push button start before

Sad to tell you this but you can re-programme it as many times as like but it won't stop them stealing it again if they are doing it by scanning for the key.

Was it stolen from outside your house ?

yes outside keys were in the AA bag

bags does work as i stood next to the car and did not open

What about the spare key where do you keep that?

also in a bag Tiexen

i have a dislock on the wheel  at the min, looks ugly but is a deterrent

The problem of course since you have only had the car a couple of weeks you don't know for sure just how many keys for that car exsist, or even if a key was cloned when the previous owner had it.

Bought from a Ford dealership in Northwich Manchester way so not local to me

tracker looks a good option will certainly look in to that. .a immobiliser could also work for me

All our family have trackers on our vehicles. The trackers  have a remote signal so we have that wired to kill the ignition system if we send the command to the tracker. At £5 per month it is a good device

That sounds great,
