Temperature gauge

Hi all.. could anybody help me?.. my temperature gauge goes from cold to mid range(halfway/normal) after around 10 mins of driving (diesel)... then suddenly the needle will go from normal temperature back to low(bottom) for a few mins plus’.. then back to normal temperature.. it repeats this.. also when the temperature needle drops the air coming thru vents goes cold regardless if it’s on hot?.. is this normal.. I just want some advice before I have to take it into the garage.. thankyou

Sounds like you have an airlock in the coolant.

Hi.. how do I get rid of this.. could I do this myself or does it need a garage, thankyou for the reply
