My mate crashed on a dual carriageway as his yellowstuff's hadn't warmed up.  He'd had a clear run with virtually no traffic until the point he needed to slam on...

I've been running EBC Yellowstuff on my MK2 Focus for the last 5 years without any warm up issues.

You must be binding somewhere then.

I pulled up at an island, when cold, first time out and NO BRAKES.

Pads went straight in bin

I don't think I've been binding for 5 years solid, especially given I replaced all 4 calipers, guide pins and hoses 3 years ago.  That said, clearly people can have wildly differing experiences it would seem!

Mine stops okay? If anything I find the handling a bit tweeky but could be am just used to bigger cars

If the car won't stop as it should then throwing money at performance parts isn't the best option. Standard pads, shoes and discs, clean and serviced calipers, drums and master cylinder, fresh fluid (OK, braided hoses are a good idea) are good places to start from. If you have all these, and brake performance is still poor, then look at upgrades.

Is this Fusion really so bad at stopping? Has anyone else noticed, or is it just your perception? Maybe get someone else to drive it for a while.
