My trouble is I don't trust garages, if I do it myself I know it's been done properly, also in the the past they have scuffed the doors and sills, getting in and out of the car.

I have a mechanic i trust implicitly, been using him for years, more a friend. Its very hard to get the trust as your life and others is at stake. My wallet is also a major factor lol

Wish I could find a reliable & trustworthy mechanic.  Having a hard enough job trying to squeeze quotes out of them!

I genuinely do believe that if you want a job doing well, do it yourself.  But when health prohibits that, you're just at the mercy of other people.

Ford first service on a MK4 Focus is about £270.00

If your car is a 2020 then it would be unwise to not use a Ford dealer whilst it is still under warranty.

Car booked in for service, they are charging £262, so you were spot on, I did pay an extra £49, for brake fluid change, as websites do say change every 2 years, my previous car I owned for 13 years, only had one brake fluid change and that was to do brake pads

Same here. Brakes never felt remotely spongy in all that time.

Wait until your car hits 4 years old and you need a major service, £365 if i remember correctly
