Recently received a reward card after changing ISP.  It's money I wouldn't otherwise have had and wasn't really expecting, so would rather use it for something 'nice' than just waste it on bills or small items that I could have bought anyway.  Trouble is, I can't think of anything I actually want at that price point!  It's prepay so can't be any more than that amount and must be something I can order online.

Most will know but currently I can't drive, can't really eat, don't drink alcohol, don't have a garden and only have very limited storage space which restricts the purchase possibilities.  Hoping for some 'unusual' ideas from others...so what would you buy with it?

What about a coupe of magazine subscriptions, or a fun watch? (Though I really do like the previous suggestion!)

I don't really watch films or read magazines.  Rather look stuff up online as and when required or watch hour long programmes on Freeview. Only streaming service I use is Spotify but I'm content with the free version of that.  

A watch is more along the right lines, something physical to keep for a while.  Though you don't get much watch for a double figure sum nowadays after looking at a few retailers!  I don't wear any jewellery either, but again considered something along that track.

I don't need any Viagra.  (That isn't the brag it seems!  )

If I had £100 to throw at something, I'd quite fancy this, listed at £85 new, on Ebay... Obviously a very personal choice, but just plug in the price limit in the filter, and see if there's anything you fancy.

look at watches on the shopping channels, i quite like the russian ones or skeleton type but i rarely wear one.

I haven't worn one since the beginning of the pandemic.  Used to wear one nearly every day before that!  Partly why I'm reluctant to buy a cheapish one now.  If I was buying one, would rather go for something more expensive that would maintain value if I never wore it and wanted to sell in future.

I've been picking up the odd silver coin lately with this in mind.  Nice to own due to the designs, but also knowing that they'll always have an intrinsic value if I need to sell in future.  An ounce of silver is about £15 scrap atm so 1oz coins can be picked up for £20-25...I don't just want to buy 3 of those with this money though.

However, I've just thought about a Zippo lighter for approx £50.  I don't smoke, but it seems like something cool to own.  Also ideal if someone asked me for a match as a secret rendezvous signal...  Anyway, just checked the Zippo website.  I had no idea there are so many designs!! 😮

Tom, I have a few zippos, also don't smoke but inherited a few from my dad who did. I also bought one last year myself. Now, you will get just as much enjoyment from a basic model as some fancy schmancy one. The attraction is in the gorgeous fluid movement of opening the lid with a great hinge, and the wonderful smell of petrol as you rotate the flint wheel with your thumb to create that spark to light it. I could play with one for hours. The one I bought last year was £11, brand new, and I love it!

As @StephenFord says they're very tactile, used to really annoy folk around you opening and closing it over and over again!!! 😃 And if you break it you can return it and they'll fix it for free 👍 well, they used to.

I do have a decent (but disposable) lighter I found when I moved in here.  From a dodgy club that no longer exists lol.

Looking at the price ranges on Zippo's, I think I will buy a cheaper one at some point, though perhaps not with this money.

You can get a tin of lighter fuel in PoundLand, but you need to ask for it at the till, as they've stopped putting it out on the shelves anymore!

Was watching the Antiques Roadshow last weekend...cos that's how I roll.

They had a broach with different coloured sapphires...  I wasn't aware you could get them in different colours.  Also wasn't aware they're second only to diamonds on the hardness scale, so even I couldn't damage one!  (And of course, there's a tenuous Ford link!)

Looks like plenty of choice for a loose stone under £100.  Small & easy to store.  And could always be made into a piece of jewelry in future if a significant other appeared through some miracle.

That's why premium watches have 'sapphire' glass as it's much more scratch resistant than standard 'mineral' ones. Oh, another tit bit, never put an emerald into an ultrasonic cleaner, they contain micro fissures which could make them shatter, I speak from experience LOL
