Bumping this up after almost a year.  I did spend the other money on something a bit boring in the end.

However, I've been watching Outback Opal Hunters a lot lately and realised I quite like opal...certainly more visually interesting than diamond for example.  I'm also fascinated by anything that's just been hanging around in the ground for years, as it's so easy to quickly simulate anything nowadays.  I don't wear any jewellery so just considering a loose 'lump' of opal as a nice item to own.  Just wondered if anyone could direct me to a legitimate website to purchase genuine solid opal from?  Ideally Australian opal from one of the mines I've heard of. :smile:

That would be great if it was possible.  I'm a strong believer in experiences over objects any day!  That outlook makes being housebound particularly difficult though. 🤔
