Hi guys, I'm looking at fitting a new cat-back exhaust system for my 2009 zetec s and they are saying that I need to find out if I have a flex or non flex exhaust system. Is there any way to find this out besides getting unde the car? I don't have a jack in the boot so would have to buy one and wanted to see if it can be found before I have to do that? Any help is appreciated

If you can find a high curb you can safely pull on too, you might have enough room to look under.

Yh I was thinking it's gonna be a case of getting under haha. There's some fairly high curbs near me so I might have to give that a go

Look down the back of the engine..

You can just see the flexi pipe, if it's there, from looking in the engine bay.

this is my exhaust on my zetec s..there is a flexi part but its before the flange bit where the new hornet exhaust i am getting fitted tomorrow screws on to.

its a bit miss-leading as it says for cars without the flexi part but mine does. you need to see if the flexi is like mine before the flange or after the flange bit, like on the cobra picture here..

 

if you want a milltek it doesnt matter as the pipe needs cut after the resonator part what from ive seen

Mine is the same, flexi before the flange.  I've also got a Hornet exhaust on my Zetec S.  The Milltek that was on snapped at the silencer. 😮

milltek have a life time warranty dont they? 🙂 what hornet system have you got? im getting the full system with the resonator done

Dunno about the warranty, it was already on the car when I bought it. 😕

whats it like is it loud? im getting the same fitted but with the resonator i hope its not loud man.

It's quietened down a lot, since it was fitted.

It's loud, but, not ear bleeding loud.  It doesn't set car alarms off when passing. ☹️☹️
