Don't worry about this. Last two positions is the checksum for the line. Useful data are characters before. Forscan is showing them for information purpose, and as we see, to confuse new users.  Good news, Forscan is taking care and calculate this checksum whenever we change something.

I have no experience with ACM. But, you have already changed BCM and executed procedure for testing, which is good. Imo, you need to find a setting in ACM which says something about "split view without multiple cameras" and enable it. Looking at your screenshots, it might be this option "present non-NA layout with split view option"

Unfortunatelly, I tried all options including option #4 - "Present non-NA layout with Split View option" - It does not work at all: when switching R gear - video does not turn on at all. I also tried to look across all ACM module settings - neither of them except this single one seem to be anyhow releated to Reversing camera. There is "Front camera" setting which can be turned on. Not sure what it means, but unikely related to Split View of the Rear Camera.

So likely Forscan does not yet know this option and it shuold be set by ASBUILT directly, or by configuring something else additionally. Here are screenshots from video review from the same dealer where I bought my car, but another trim having reversing camera preinstalled, on the same ACM module without APIM - icons are same as I have and split works there.

Also, I'm still confused with video interlacing. Does this happen to your camera?

No, does not.

No need for downloading AsBuilt. I found some AsBuilt files in my collection.

Unfortunately, the only change in ACM is what you do - set "RV Present non NA layout", which reflects to 727-08-02 xxxx xxxx x2. That are the only changes in APIM.

I have also found that in BdyCM: 726-15-02 xx6E xxxx xx

That it. No other differences in any module related to the rear camera.

On another forum I found little bit different activation instructions as stated for ACM:

Quote

ACM CTR (Connected Touch Radio):
HMI Options - DE07
Rear View camera - Present – non NA layout
BCM 62 Sleep/Awake Processing - SlaveExists RVC Cfg present

Hopefully I can find "62 Sleep/Awake Processing - SlaveExists RVC Cfg present" in BCM, but not sure about  what means ACM "HMI Options - DE07". Looks like asbuilt code for some line 🤷‍♂️.

I'll give it a try.

Does anyone know which connector pins type are used for C405 connector (male + female), and BCM female connector?

ACM from this spreadsheet looks similar:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17n50OFEdVnwKt1IEPkEy1i3toD69U9io7Xn8ZIG719c/edit?gid=1604087996#gid=1604087996

But, I'm sure about my data. Compared like 20+ AsBuilt, with and without camera, all without APIM. That are the only differences.

I may assume different trims can be configured little bit different. You don't see difference maybe because you're looking at the asbuilt having camera related settings already toggled into working mode, so you only had to change 2 flags in APIM and BCM. My guess, there can be other flags that with diff trim cars are set differently, and when comparing their asbuilt you may find more differences than just 2 flags. But that's just a guess.

I'll keep it posted.

So, it worked.

OEM camera with ACM without APIM:

  1. ACM Rear camera "Present non-NA layout"
  2. BCM Rear camera "Enabled" (camera and +zoom worked but no split view)
  3. BCM ASBUILT line "726-15-02" 1st block last 2 chars changed to "6F". Note, Forscan will show you message about incorrect checksum but will correct it upon writing.
  4. Run BCM Local Network Communication test (or something like that).

Huge thank 🙌 to @piotrmod for discovering (3).

Hi ya, so… if I run a wire from Number 2 camera connector to Number 59 BCM connector in the fuse box I will have zoom and steering lines?
I have wired the oem camera in and all works apart from zoom and dynamic steering lines 👍

Yes.
Connecting video (3, 4, 5) will give you just a video.
Connecting 2 to 59 BCM and activating it in BCM module in Forescan will give you zoom and dynamic lines as long as you're using EOM camera.

Can anyone point me in the right direction where to buy the correct pin which I’ll attached to my new wire to fit into number 59 BCM 🙏

I would just check pin 59 in the BCM first as you may find something already using that pin. If so you may need to splice into the wire already occupying that pin and won’t need a pin!

Impossible! This pin goes to the rear camera only. And is never present if there is no camera.

Interesting, it was definitely populated when I retrofitted my camera and there was no camera there before - where would it lead to?

hi @piotrmod and @Elliott14 Pin 59 on the BCM is also used for the internal alarm sensor

edit: pin 59 is the Lin used for the Alarm Horn, not the sensor itself

@Elliott14 I tried installing the alarm module myself but couldn't get it to work (as did many others). Do you use Forscan? If so, could I maybe see what the settings in your modules is? Still hoping to fix the problem.

Absolutely, but are you looking for help with the alarm or the rear camera?

the rear camera I have already, the intrusion alarm I tried to retrofit as did many dutch users but no one managed to do it so I'm hoping we are missing a setting or something. Hope to maybe find it in the settings of another Focus with the intrusion alarm already installed.

As I'm typing this I'm not sure yet if you have the alarm. Only pin 59 maybe 😉

@Alan Herron I bought a few old connectors from a BCM with a cut off wire loom. You can then use the pins to add to the connector and only have to extend the wire.

Hey, I have a MK4.5 focus ST that came with a reversing camera standard, however doesn’t have the wide Split View option. Is this something I can enable via forscan?

hi @Reece438 I dont think you can just enable it but I'm not sure. I think it is dependent on the type of camera.  Do you know the part number of the camera? You can see it in Forscan or on the camera itself 😉 Where are you from? In the Netherlands the Focus with the small screen and I think the Focus with the standard camera were never sold

Bought a Ford wagon mk4 without a camera last week. Since this i a nice to have feature i will try to add it.

Just recieved the OEM Camera waiting for the right cables and pins.

Is this a list of every forscan value thats need to be changed?
(OEM camera with PDC, steering guidelines and wide angle view)
Could not find a compact guide on what needed to be changed mayby @piotrmod can confirm this is the way to go.

thanks,

That actually depends on your infotainment system. Focus MK4 can have low grade system,. still 8 inch color display but it is not Sync 3, it is Sync 2.5 and all is done in the radio module ACM. @esemlabel listed all required modifications in hist post which you have quoted. If your car has Sync 3, there are different modifications in APIM module instead of ACM. Changes to BCM will be the same. Apart of simple enabling rear view camera, you need just change two values, listed in my post:

Thank you @Rickychips & @piotrmod
I successfully installed the OEM camera.
I used the wiring harness available on AliExpress.

The only point of concern was that this cable is designed for the Ford Focus up to 2018, which caused the following issues:

  • The pin for the BCM was incorrect, so I replaced it with:

  • The cable length between video +/- and the BCM was slightly too short. However, since I replaced one connector, I extended it at the same time and added a connector in case it ever needs to be disconnected.

  • The fuse bypass for fuse 3 (PDC) was for a different type, so I replaced it with a Micro2 bypass.

Other than that, here are the next steps:

FORScan:

  • BdyCM (Config) > Rear Vehicle Camera > Enabled

  • BdyCM (AsBuilt) > Changed line to 726-15-02 > **6F-****-****

  • APIM (Config) > Rear Vehicle Camera > Enabled

  • APIM (Config) > Rear Camera Split View (non-multi camera) > Enabled

Lastly, run the following:

  • Service procedure > BdyCM Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration

Everything worked immediately:
Camera
Split View wide angle

Hi,

Ive managed to install this and get the lines working. Although, i couldn't get the wide angle working.

But the issue is that the PDC (parking aids), front and back have stopped working, although, the settings are enabled in forscan.

The thing also is, that before plugging the camera into the BCM they were working with the camera.

Any idea?

Thank You

Sure,

1) If you have taken power for your camera from F3 fuse, probably you did that in a wrong way, the adapter must have both fuses in place. F3 powers PDC, so that is the most probable mistake. Check voltage on F3 fuse and check if F3 fuse is not burned out.

2) Wide angle:  use this calculator to help with AsBuilt: forMOD AsBuilt calculator - Camera Wide View

(it was worked out in my reply on page #3 of this thread)

3) If still get issues, provide AsBuilt of BCM and APIM (you have APIM or ACM?)
