2014 2.0 TDCI rough running, no distance to empty indication

Featured Replies

Hi all hope some can help or give an idea where to start looking. I have a 2014 2.0 TDCI ford s-max just short of 203k miles. It has recently started to run rough. It start fine with very little smoke which goes away instantly. During long drives it runs fine and has normal power but occasionally puffs a bit of grey smoke during acceleration. When returning to city driving it struggles to maintain 30mph. It is smoother either accelating or decelerating.

It has now stopped showing the mpg or distance to empty numbers. The engine service now light is on but there are no fault codes.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer advice.

Manufacturer codes are hidden to generic OBD2 readers.  You will need some Ford specific diagnostics.

Forscan is ideal and there are plenty of posts covering that on here.
