Fiesta MK7.5 2013, Retrofit Hill Start Assist

Featured Replies

Have got myself a 62 plate MK7.5 1.25 Zetec fiesta. so super early facelift with the large grill, ford sync radio and blue instrument cluster. My first car.

Have already done a few retrofit mods to put factory options onto it like DAB radio and upgraded screen/reversing camera.

But nobody is talking about hill start assist. My quick autotrader research suggests I am literally 1 year away from it being standard fit. every single 2014 fiesta including the low spec style trim models have it. But unless I search google for "2013 zetec hill start" I cant find any 2013 fiesta with hill start for sale right now only past sales. This suggests it was at least an option on the 2013 models I hope.

Was a little gutted as everyone I spoke to said theirs had HSA and even the 2013 UK brochure says its standard. My driveway is quite steep so while I can live without it I am sure as hell going to try and activate the feature.

My question is can I just try and enable this via Forscan? it seems to be an option and became standard in 2014 but I really don't want to brick something as read some posts about people bricking their Ford Focus trying to activate it. Has anyone else tried this? or am I just out of luck. I am fully aware that some people hate HSA but its proven very nice in my brothers 2011 focus

This thread may be of help.

I did see that @unofix but seems to be for a Focus MK3 which could predate 2013. The Focccus software also does not work on Fiesta's so I am apprehensive to try Forscan if it will mess up my car with no way to undo my change. Hoping someone can give me a confirmed yes/no on if its possible specificity on a 2013 fiesta. But thank you for the link anyway. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge on my fun journey of making my Zetec a "titanium" so am positive someone will know more about this than me

Just bumping this. Anyone with any info on this please chime in

I am too chicken to just activate in forscan but all my research suggests it should be standard fit on 2013 models

Be aware that not all software versions of the ABS module support Hill Start Assist. Early Focus MK3 versions can have an older software version that does not support this function. In this case the Hill Start Assist function can only be activated after the ABS module software has been updated. Even some 2014 models do not have HSA.
