Stop/Start, Engine Start Problems Since Full Service

Featured Replies

I have a Fiesta Zetec S 2015 edition. I recently had a full service on my car from a local mechanic, my car has been a bit different since getting it done. To start with, before the service the engine used to just start straight away after turning the key and holding my foot down on the clutch, since the service I have to turn the key to ignition, then wait for the little A icon on my dash to go from orange to green and then turn the key to start it. Also, since the service my start/stop feature has stopped working completely. I know that there's no problem with the battery since it was replaced half way through last year and I have tried unplugging it, leaving the car for a min and then plugging it back in and that also hasn't helped. If someone could help with this asap that would be amazing.

If these issues suddenly appeared after the service, in the first instance I'd be getting back to the garage and asking what they've done.

You don't mention it the car is petrol.or diesel, btw.

I'd check the battery voltage, it could be something as simple as them having left a door open or lights on or something while working on it and discharging the battery.

Yes, the battery is mentioned as having been replaced last year but doesn't sound as if it has actually been checked with a multimeter.

Lol, funnily enough I started using a "plain" copy  2/3 years ago as below then @unofix came out with the de-luxe annotated version a while ago, so I use that now!
