Hello,

I've been battling with my bus a while now.

I keep coming up against a brick wall though.

It's a 2016 tourneo custom, 2.0 ecoblue.

The drivers wiper motor and plug have been replaced.

The washer pump has been replaced.

All relevant fuses and relays (as far as i can tell) are ok.

Forscan used, but i am unable to see the wiper calibration section?

One strange thing, when the ignition is turned on, the rear wiper is continous.

And

The rear wash, front wash and front wipers do nothing.

Thanks.

You haven't made it very clear exactly what the problem is.

Regarding fuses and relays, the wipers and screen wash pump is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM).

Has the wiper stalk been tested or replaced ?

Why do you want to calibrate the wiper motor(s) ?

Hi

I thought that the drivers wiper motor needed calibrating, when a new motor is fitted?

I've had some progress today actually.

New battery fitted 12.6v vehicle off,

14.7v vehicle on, so alternator is good.

The passenger side motor made a very small movement, maybe an inch, so that was a surprise.

I took all the connection plugs out of the BCM and checked for any water ingress or problems. All seemed OK.

All connectors plugged back into BCM, then I reconnected the battery and ran Forscan, and all modules are good. No errors.

I disconnected the wiper stalk, and turned the ignition on, and then scanned the vehicle.

Forscan brought up a few messages about the wiper stalk etc, sorry I didn't get a photo, but Forscan knew I removed it.

I think your logic makes sense.

The modules are all OK so the stalk must be the issue.

I took note of the part number, so I think I'll buy one and see.

Thank you

New wiper switch fitted, still no joy.

I'm close to sending it into ford, gutting.

Have you reset the vehicle by disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes after you replaced the wiper stalk ?

With the new wiper stalk now fitted, is the wiper(s) still continuing to work with just the ignition on ?

any of the drainage holes clogged ?

Hi,

No I haven't disconnected the battery after replacing the wiper stalk.

I will try this and report back, thanks.

  • Author

I will need to check the drainage holes.

Thanks.

No joy.   Rear wiper remains permanently on with the ignition turned on.

And

Front wipers do not do anything on any switch control.

Back and Front washers do not work either.

Silly question, but you have switched FORScan from Demo mode to the Debug Mode?

I only ask because the DTC list is too good to be true. Are you using the vLinker FS cable ?

Not a daft question at all.

I will have to check.

This is what I'm using,

That cable should work fine.

Ok, do I have been using Debug mode.

And now there are BdyCM error codes.

And now the horn has started to beep twice when I lock the vehicle, even though all doors are firmly closed.

I hope the BdyCM is saveable, and that it's just a grounding problem or something.

Any help would be appreciated, as always.

It is now beginning to look more like a BCM fault.

I think you need to fully remove it (I know it's a pain to do !!) and then open it up and check inside for signs of water ingress.

I've just seen this, I mean is it worth a try?

If its broken anyway, what have I got to lose?

Sounds like bcm to me. Going back just a bit, can you move the front wiper blades with ign off? They should both move independently. Try moving them both at odd angles to each other( out of sync) then switch ign on with wiper stalk in the off position. The wipers should resync and park.regardless of the stalk. Oddly the wash request goes through the master wiper motor/module and can cause issues with wipers and washers. The rear wiper too. So still think bcm. Did you check all the bcm connectors for water or corrosion? Not easy to see without a mirror on a stick.

Hi, thankyou for you input input iantt/all.

Yes the front wipers can be moved when rhe ignition is off.

I will try the odd angle wiper method, and report back.

I'm actually thinking the drivers wiper unit that I bought from Ford could be the fault.

Is there a way I can test this until?

Also, is there a control wire from the BdyCM to the drivers motor?

Does anyone know which BdyCM block and pin, goes to which pin on the drivers wiper loom plug?

I guess I could run a continuity test from BdyCM plus to wiper plug with my multimeter?

And

Run a continuity test from the drivers wiper loom plug to the passenger wiper plug.

I still have hope that the BdyCM is OK, and that this is a control wire issue.

Thanks

James

Hello @iantt & @unofix I have read your comments are different posts which were very helpful. You guys are doing great job.

i am having issue with Ford Tourneo Custom Year 2018. Tailgate is not opening

Tailgate outside button is working fine, I have tested it with Tester. And lock actuator is also working fine (i have tested lock with 12V battery directly, it is functional)

I have tried to trace cables physically but unfortunately it’s not possible to trace them physically as all cables are in black color and cables are in very congested space

i am trying to find a wiring diagram or any advice from you guys.

Thanks

Hav you checked the wiring in the rubber grommet for damage where it transfers from tailgate to body?
