Hi @RayC333

Yeah it's a 2017 plate and in 2017 it was involved in an accident on the front left side.

I can see pipe hitting the intercooler further down when the engine is on.

I cant try the car till Saturday but I'll let you guys know the good or bad news incase this issue crops up again.

Think I've been defeated.

Been out in it today, check the engine and with the cable ties its moves less.

But again after 2 miles (went a different way its not the road 🙂

The noise coming through inside the car (behind the steering wheel area like my second video in previous comment). I can't think of anything else and its only starts to happen after a few miles (guessing up to temperature?).

look like it'll have to go out to the garage as I'm out of ideas. Just hope the garage don't change everything as they may not know what it is!

Hey guys.

So I got a local machine to have a look at my car. Said the engine sounds fine.

With the noise coming through to the car, he said it could be 2 things in his option.

With the engine mount, which should be replaced and it'll help with the vibration.

Or it could be the alternator.

He's not a ford specialist so just want your option which may help.

Any of the options sound right

Thanks

Did the mechanic spend much time on the vehicle or drive it? The ideas seem a bit vague to me.

In my opinion it could be this https://www.fiestafaction.com/threads/driveshaft-support-bearing.55362/

Note how the person says it happens after about 10 mins. The part is located to the drivers side and not far from the bulkhead. At times the sound sounds similar.

I'd agree with Ray, not convinced it's the engine mount or the alternator.

Thanks guys.

I think I'm going to take it Ford itself, instead of change lots of things.

I did Google (dangerous for me I know)

To press and hold the ok button and press the stop/start.

It did bring up 2 errors on DTC

C073_88

F006_16

Though people on there, say it don't mean anything without correct ford machine.

Also I need a Temperature Sensor near the stop start button as it buzz like crazy (I have clean it as much as possible)

At least it running ok I guess, hehe

Thanks

Hi im back.

No fix yet as I sisnt want the mobile mechine fixing lots of things and not to fix the issue.

I'll probably have to bite the bullet and take it Ford.

But I did notice this today. I stand outside the car with bonnet up and it sounds fine. I sit in the car woth the door open it sounds fine. But I close the door and it sounds odd.

Video below is me revving the engine with the door open then you here me close the door and then the noise is back.

I'm worried that u take it Ford and they haven't got a clue either. Surely its not the door vibrating.

That is very odd.  It could be something inside the door vibrating.

You can 'press' on the window, and various parts on the door card and the speaker cover etc to see if it's any of those.

You could also try it with the window wound all the way down.  Sometimes window regulator nuts vibrate loose over time.  There could also be broken glass in the bottom of the door if the original window broke in the accident, although I'm sure that would've noticeable long before now.

Thanks @TomsFocusI'll check when I finish work and report back!

Did the checks again. The sound when door is open or closed is coming from the dashboard area behind the steering wheel.

Also doesn't explain why it only does it when the car gets to temperature (90c). Never before that.

Pulling my head out. I know there is bigger issue with Cars (especially eccboost) but it's breaking me lol.

I think there's a screw loose somewhere 😉

Just one ????? 🤣

Or 'the nut behind the wheel' as the old joke goes...

I'm now wondering if it's related to the HVAC system.  Maybe a loose piece of vent ducting behind the dash or a loose temp mixture flap.  You could test that by trying different combinations of hot and cold, high speed and low speed fan, AC on and off, vents on screen or feet etc.

Unfortunately the only real way to diagnose will be to get in the footwell and start grabbing things to see if the noise stops or if you can feel it.  There is still the chance of it being vibration of the AC pipes coming into the cabin.  Did you manage to secure the top end of the loose AC pipe?

So update.

As I can't afford to take it to Ford Currently. My dad been doing some investigation.

Putting the cable tie around the Engine mount (I think that it) and around this pipe it stop all the noise in the cabin and it perfect to drive.

Is this going to cause an issue here?  Obviously I want to get it fixed but not sure of the cost etc.

It must be vibrating against the metal next to it when accelerating.

That should be fine.
