2003 fiesta

Featured Replies

Just got myself a second hand 2003 fiesta just wondering what’s the cheapest way to play music instead of cds or do I have to take the whole stereo out and replace it

Cheapest and easiest is a Bluetooth adaptor that plugs in the 12v socket with a USB socket in

Stream your phones audio and phones calls and programe it to stream on one of your radio Presets

Cheap on ebay

295970057380

Search for that number on ebay

The above suggestion looks promising,  alternative suggestion: Connect a cable from phone to your aux socket.

Not sure if there was one on the 2003 fiesta..but that's another idea

I put a dab+ unit in to give extra stations and a lot clearer

I suspect that Chole will be a 'very latest' iPhone user (costs more than the car) and it won't have a jack socket 🤣

Sadly I’m not I have a cheap phone. But thanks anyway

Chloe, have these suggestions helped find a solution? btw, there might be an aux socket mounted in  the glovebox if it's not visible elsewhere.

Might be helpful if Chloe could post a pic of the existing radio/cd and confirm if there are any sockets around? I think it might be a case of jack plug socket only, as 2003 predates when USBs were fitted generally. I think there are still a few MP3 players around with jack plug, though I guess most of them will be Bluetooth or USB nowadays.

Thread here from 9 years ago on a similar topic, but most of what's mentioned has been covered here anyway:

Can't see an "aux" button there, so probably no sockets anywhere.

As far as I known those units did not have an Aux socket fitted.

No aux anywhere

It is possible to add a 3.5mm socket via a autolead that will switch all the speakers off and allow you to put the audio in via the fronts only..it's a long winded way and you will have to remove the radio..(careful on that one) and place the lead inline.

I said careful as the panel you remove will if you not careful will scratch the radio facia.

Chloe, If that Bluetooth adaptor on eBay for £6.99 will fit your 12v socket without getting in the way of the gearstick, then that's probably your quickest and easiest solution. It connects to the phone by Bluetooth, then relays the signal to your radio by FM, so you tune your radio to the frequency of the adaptor.  Cheap and neat solution provided it doesn't stick up too much and interfere with the gear changing.

Aux came in on 6.5 along with bluetooth

The 12v streamer is the best idea, you can tune it to a dead radio signal

Just been having a search around out of curiosity and found a download link for a 2006 (Mk 6.5) Fiesta brochure.

It was indeed available with Bluetooth and what they describe as a "Portable Music Connection Socket" but as options only. Even when the Mk 7 came out Bluetooth was still only standard on the Titanium (optional elsehere), so I guess there won't be too many 6.5s with it. How things move on!

Yeah, my son's '08 Fiesta Ghia certainly doesn't come with Bluetooth, only the aux socket, which I recently had the dubious pleasure of replacing.
