mild hybrid problems

To give them the benefit of the doubt, I did wonder whether the shifter is now fully electronic and could appear to be in Neutral position without the TCM deselecting the gears.  That would indeed be an unpleasant experience!

  • Anyway, before you go online everywhere accusing the vehicle of accelerating of it's own accord, I would allow the manufacturer the opportunity to read the on board telemetry, which will show the stat

  • Just an update, drove to Scotland on holiday, fault occurred 3 times over 10 days driving around NC 500, other wise car was great to drive. I’ve since used a diagnostic tool and fault on BECM - batter

  • I would expect that to be fully true. Regen brakeing has to be able to 'dump' the generated power somewhere and if the battery is full then it can't charge it anymore. So yes, I would expect rege

That's a thought. My Puma test drives were all manuals so no experience of the DCT selector.

A lot are now fully electronic though, and many not even a lever e.g. VW group DSGs are mostly just a stubby switch, latest BMWs likewise, Honda Civic is separate  buttons for PRND, latest MINI (EV and petrol) is just a little switch on the dash.

Just to update from my puma going into ford dealers last week for hybrid problem. They had car for 2 days, software updates on 3 x control modules including battery energy control, slow charged 12 volt battery over night. I’ve had no fault since so hopefully they’ve sorted it😏

From earlier posts about throttle pedal issues, and ecu recording actions, I had defect report at work on a daf lorry coming to a sudden stop, read diagnostics with Texa system, no recorded faults. Took vehicle for test drive, all ok then after 5 miles or so going up a slight hill vehicle came to a standstill, fault on dashboard said stop and go to workshop 🤪 switch ignition off etc and everything ok. Now if this had happened in the fast lane of a motorway just imagine 😞 the engine ecu had lost communication with throttle control so had shut engine down to idle 😏took vehicle back to workshop and checked wiring etc to ecu, all okay so spent £ 450 of council tax payers money on new throttle pedal unit and that sorted problem. I wish I was clever enough to understand all this technology but to old to understand, all I’m saying is don’t always blame humans🤓 so stop taking Micky out of people posting faults😏
