Rear parking sensors compatible with Sync 2.5

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased my first car—a 2019 Ford Focus 1.0T ST-Line (petrol), and I’m quite new to the Ford world. My vehicle is equipped with the SYNC 2.5 system, and I’m interested in adding rear parking sensors. However, I’ve been struggling to find compatible rear parking sensors that work seamlessly with the SYNC 2.5 system.

Could anyone recommend suitable parts or kits that would work with my setup? Additionally, I’d appreciate any suggestions for reliable places around Cardiff where I can get these sensors installed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You have a 2019 Focus with Sync2.5 ?

Iirc the price list at that time just mentioned "Sync" on the Zetec and ST-Line, the ST- Line X mentioned "Sync 3" .

I assume the plain "Sync" must have meant 2.5.

Similar thing on the Fiesta near the end - mine was 2.5 as standard, 3 was extra.

@unofixIts 2019 ford focus st-line 1.0T petrol car. Sync 3 comes with navigation right? Sync 2.5 doesnt have navigation. Only comes with android auto and apple car play.

@Eric Bloodaxe I think that right

You're correct 👍

I was just amazed that you only had Sync2.5, I thought there must have been a mistake with your model details or year.

There are those who have upgraded to Sync3.0 so it can be done, but I don't have the details.

Yes, there are a few threads on here on that eg:

https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/99185-how-to-sync2-sync3-upgrade/

However (and this stuff is all beyond me!) the various guides I've seen relate to upgrading 2, and I get the impression 2.5 could be different? I've seen it described in non-UK posts as "Sync 3 lite".

I recall seeing a few threads on Fiesta ST forums when the Mk 8 first appeared with 2.5 in some markets, and they seemed to just fizzle out without anyone succeeding.
