New wipers front and back. Best place and price

Featured Replies

Is it best to buy from a dealer or from Halfords etc

Seems to be plenty of choice if you search online but what do you recommend and where from please?

Thank you

I can't recommend Bosch wiper blades enough

I have found through experience that the cheap and own brand ones clear the Screen just as well as the premium ones but don't last as long.

I currently have Valeo  Silencio on my Focus at the moment and am pleased with them, that doesn't mean I think they are better than other brands.

Generally there is no real advantage in getting Ford branded ones unless they are being sold at a very competitive price.

Got mine from Halfords and, if you have a Blue Light Card, you'll get a discount.

I've had good service with Bosch from:

Circa £35 front and back from Bosch

I've never felt the need to replace my Rear one on any car I have owned and I usually keep my cars for at least 10 years.

For the front Bosch every time, I fitted the replacement OEM ones and they lasted 6 months before they needed replacing. Also the OEM have a indicator that turns yellow when they need replacing, mine did this in 3 months! Rear is OEM and has been fine for the past 2 years.

There is only one choice for wipers, for any/every car.

They are a product that with exceed your expectations.

Not only do they leave a silicone coating on the screen which improves with use, they last for ever.  Impossible I know.

I never endorse any specific products..... except these wipers.  They really are that good.  I have them on all of our cars.

ETA just checked my spreadsheet...

Bought Dec 2021 and fitted at 85120 miles

Just passed the MOT Nov 2024 at 108290 miles

....still clear the screen perfectly, and the raindrops hate landing on the silicone 🙂

Just about to order these but the rear looks different. My rear wiper is straight

What do you think @DaveT70 please

My car is a Fiesta St Line 1.0 year 2021

Probably the way they're photographed, they all tend to look more curved when not fitted (though the rear screen does have a slight curve to it) and blades do need to be curved to suit the screen contours or they wouldn't wipe properly . Have a look here:

 🙂

I use to get these for my Japanese cars, very expensive, as were their bulbs, but excellent quality. Never thought to check if they did them for my lowly Focus.

Doesn't that depend how long they last?

Their bulbs for my Toyota Celica GT4 were almost £100 over 10 years ago were you could buy standard for £12. I still had to replace them at intervals of ordinary halogens. My analysis of, 'expensive' still stands ..

I only recommended their wipers.  I use Bosch Pure Light H7 bulbs - five quid a pair.

I only use Auxito LED bulbs, H7, at £15/pair 😁

i use bosch ones too still like new after a year..

Off-road use only?  If not, I sure am glad I'll never be on the same road as you.

Right back at you buddy 😂 no idea what you're talking about. They've passed 3 consecutive MOTs, and have been professionally aligned so beam pattern will blind no one...

So you do know what I'm talking about 😄

Nope, no idea LED upgrade bulbs are illegal in projector lens. I'm a very naughty boy 🤣

...and you do realise this is impossible, professionally or otherwise.  Hope you didn't pay too much for something that can't be done 😁

Buddy, my lights are just fine, I can see great on the road, and I'm not blinding anyone. At £15 a set, not dear. I get professional alignment done FOC from a trusted garage. So don't you worry your head about it any further...
