Automatic gearbox ford galaxy 08 plate

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have a ford galaxy 08 plate with automatic gearbox diesel keeps coming up with transmission service req.

But I have no codes when I plug it in

It will only stay in 3 gear and will not let me change it but when I switch it off. It works fine up until it changes to forth. Then, it sees transmission service req

Don't know if it's part of the problem. But I have literally just changed my thermostat. Then, this problem occurred.

I have had a code p2263 come up twice.

Can anyone help?

Welcome!
Firstly, what code reader are you using (basic ones only allow OBD codes to be read, "we" recommend Forscan)
Then there's the code that is turbo related and one possible source of info is:
https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/77105-focus-20-tdci-p2263-fault-code/
Then there's the transmission related item that I know nothing about as ours is Powershift and I don't think yours is.?

Where are the experts!

Aisin 6 speed TC on that I believe

How many miles has it done?

When was the fluid changed?

Car still has a TCM and could have either a broken wire to the transmission, poor earthing or a problem in the CAN

Do these suffer with cluster issues like Focus 2?

But, I reckon I'm weeing in the wind and am about to get laughed at by @unofix

That's why I didn't comment

What you thinking ?

OPW or TW ?

They could surprise us and come back and engage in a conversation 😉

Come On  @KarlMc88 break the mould and respond!

I'm not bothering any more

I told you so 😂

The forum's are full of time wasters and one post wonders

Thank you for you help

AFAIK  it is no Powershift as I don't recognise this:

Unsure if even the Topdon will pick up the relevant codes but again, I'm no expert on those scanners.
Need to follow through on suggestions above.

So do you think it will be better to replace this bit?

And will It need code to the car?

Correct.  As Dave says, it's an Aisin Warner AWF21 torque converter box.

Sorry, my post was a response to Shearers as quoted.  I don't know what the fault is on your car.

Well we see what happens 😂😂

I only posted that part as it became obvious  after a search that it wasn't Powershift (confirming other advice) and I suggested following through with the posts above i.e. change fluid, check wiring, earthing, CANBUS etc etc AND the code you gave was turbo related so all in all, very confusing and you appear to be ignoring/misunderstanding so we can't be responsible for that?
