Radiator fan control module

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, newby here. I have a Focus mk2 2007 petrol engine (1.6). Done 100 000 miles so barely run in. My wife and I live mainly in Australia but store the car at a cousins when we come over to live for a few months at a time.

I have a problem with my radiator fan control module. Initially this blew and probably this stressed the electric circuit because eventually the sensor had to be replaced as well. But to cut a long story short, I bought a module off ebay, after a few weeks my battery started going flat. I disconnected the input plug and took a continuity reading across the module’s input pins - ~6.5 ohms so this appears to be causing the parasitic battery drain.

My problem is trying to source a genuine Ford/Bosch replacement, it appears impossible to find so I have resorted to Amazon replacement. My question is what alternative module has anyone tried? I’m thinking a later module should do the trick with plug changes.

Any suggestions?
