Did you just buy the film + activator online then do it in the bath or something? I don't fancy paying to have my wing mirror repaired after the accident! They only want 25 to dip it again but I'd rather pay 50 and learn to do it myself

Your sport on, also need a good base colour and a good quality lacquer for after.

All the other prep is like if your spraying a panel, but between the base coat and lacquer you dip.

Looking to replace the stock speakers as 1 of the cones have split. Any recommendations for what to get.

Front or rear speakers? Depends on your budget as well.

Front are component and rear are coaxial if I remember correctly. Both use 16.5cm/6.5inch speakers woofers.

Pioneer make decent speakers for the money and not too expensive as well. Guessing they are going to be powered by the head unit?

It will be a full install.

Phase 1 will be replace all six and power off of unit.

Phase 2 will be amp them up

I had considered another set of pioneers as used to use their 5x7 sets.

Have a look at mine, Hassen's or Lenny's build logs for ideas as we've all completed full installs! :)

Like Kieran said, plenty of links and ideas between the 3 of us threads. If you have the budget and doing it in phases like I did, consider something a bit more high end like Focal/JL Audio for the speakers.
From my personal experience with the Focal 165KR, they are worth the money and sound brilliant.
I had Pioneers in the past and would recommended them too.

Been a while since last update, but need busy working on audio.

Installed 4 channel Pioneer GM-D8604 hidden under passenger seat with high level input from stereo so I can factory unit which meets all my current needs.

With Pioneer TS-A173Ci in the front and Pioneer TS-A1733i in the rear.

All fitted as direct replacements for factory speakers.

New audio cabling laid throughout including a new quad lock adapter taking audio straight to amp.

Also installed ford boot tray.

Sad to say having need parked in office car park, someone has managed to leave a nice crease in the n/s/r door so need to look at a repair/ replacement but nothing come up cheap locally.
