What Was On Your Shortlist?

Well was just wondering today if the Fiesta I have ordered is going to look as stunning as my old MINI Convertible and I reckon it is but what other cars did you consider before you placed your order.

I was trying to convince myself that the new KA was the way to go after dismissing the Aygo for being just too basic but everytime I went into the showroom I just could not like it.

As a point of note - to get a MINI configured to the same spec as I am having on my Fiesta I would need an EXTRA 5,200!!

Too right you would Paul.

And the Fiesta is just as good too!

I would have loved an electric sunroof as well as the aircon. I was a bit miffed as the concept car did have that option but when it was launched obviously Ford changed their minds........

And, in hindsight, I would had USB as well as bluetooth but that's nothing really.

All in all, it's a great car and worth every penny--you can't say fairer than that can you? B)

I was going to get a Corsa until I saw the advert for the new Fiesta!

Nothing wrong with the Corsa--I had a 2002 1.2 SXi and that was a great little car too.

The new shape's a bit bigger but not as pleasing to look at as the Fiesta (in my opinion of course)!

I don't think you'll be disappointed Amy........... ;)

Nothing, the wife only wanted a Fiesta.

No hassle for you then Keith.

Mrs Hedgepig wanted a Sportka so she's got one. ;)

I was already driving a new shape corsa and did what you aren't supposed to do....buy a new car on the spur of the moment lol.

I don't regret it though as it's a much better car to drive than the corsa's albeit i will say the corsa's do handle the twisties better.

Well, apart from paying for it.

I had a look at a few cars before settling on the Fiesta.

1. New Seat Ibiza - All engines gutless, nice interior.

2. Suzuki Swift - Nice engine, cheap mid 90's looking interior

3. Renault Twingo RenaultSport - Seemed very slow to me.

4. Mazda 2 1.5 Sport. - Nice drive. Decent Equipment level

Went for the Fiesta as the Engine and chassis and overall look and feel where better than the mazda 2. The Mazda 2 is the current Fiesta platform underneath. Also the closest Mazda dealer is far enough away to make it a pain to take the car to for any work to be done.

I was thinking about the Renaultsport Twingo too as have a friend who works for them abd could get a good deal although I just could not get past the cheap feel of the interior and while it is more powerful (bhp per tonne) than the Fiesta, most of my driving is urban so not going ot be able to make full use of it. Also looked at the GT version as it come in a lovely orange but again it was too cheap feeling

I nearly ordered a mini cooper last summer, then I saw the ad for the fiesta, so I thought id wait till xmas to treat myself and save a fortune as I get ford privi!

Well - I'm still trying to decide which car to buy when I change cars on Sept 25th. I have 3 or 4 in mind:

1. Ford Fiesta Titanium = good looking car with lots of equipment & a nice drive.

2. Mini Cooper = great little car...but I only ever see women driving them - which is a worry!

3. Volkswagon Golf 1.4 TSi SE = excellent German-engineering & a car which is turbo-charged with a 7-speed box!

4. Mazda 2 1.5 Sport = smashing looking car, nice equipment, Japanese reliability, not over-priced either.

Guess I will have a few more sleepless nights yet trying to decide!

I learnt to drive in a Corsa, that's why I was going to get it as I was used to it and I liked the drive. Then chanced my mind. I was trying to persuade my mum to let me get a car before my test. It was a good job I didn't as I wouldn't be waiting for a Fiesta to come.

Theres no contest there at all!! The ford fiesta Titanium is the winner, just make sure you add some extras to it!

If I go with the 3-door Titanium Fiesta - I'd opt for the exterior styling kit with the 7-spoke alloys as the standard 15-spoke

alloys don't look that nice to me & will be a nightmare to clean!

As for colour; definitely Squeeze or Vision blue - can't decide.

Yeah def a 3 door titanium! Im not a fan of those two colours.. but ur choice, but havent seen many around soo maybe a good idea! And those 15spoke wheels was the reason i changed mine.. i hate multi spoke wheels! hard to clean!!

Depending on when you are going to order yous, you could wait until I get mine delivered and put some pics up and then you can see what a 3 door Titanium X with the dress up kit will look like in Squeeze - and there are plenty of Viion Blue Zetec S's to get a feel for what it would look like in Vision

Have you owned a Mk 7 Fiesta then?

and if you dig deep enough you will find most car manufacturers will have the odd rouge car that defies repair (I have had a few myself in the 20-odd cars I have owned)

Most cars have some human input, or are built bu robots that have human input, into their creation and human's are falable and so some cars are not a perfect as they should be. It is down to quality control and to how a manufacturer deals with these 'bad' cars that is what matters

On my shortlist:

1) Fiat 500

2) Ford KA

3) VW Polo

4) Peugeot 207

1) Only comes in a 3-dr and didn't like a lot of the patent stuff inside. 3 dr isn't very practical when you have a 85 year old gran and mum who can't get in a 3-dr as she's had a hip replacement.

2) Test drove but couldn't get on with the gear stick position and now really don't like them - strange when I HATED the new fiesta when I first saw the advert, until I saw one in the flesh ;)

3) I love but find they are quite "square with not much about them" and also quite expensive.

4) Absolutely loved and would have bought - until I test drove one and it broke down on the test drive :-S!

Had a fiesta before and when I went to drive the Ka I thought I would just have a little go in it and fell in love with it! I stalled my old fiesta coming out the car park as i'd already got so used to the new one! Fiesta just had everything I wanted, makes my little heart flutter every time I see one :-)
