Aye that took the most effort, I used a wire clothes hanger, taped the wire to that and pushed it through.

Top gear was class, can't wait Til next weeks.

Sounds a good idea! I'll have to try it! I've already had to cut the ends off so the cables will actually fit into the end! Just struggling to get the cables all the way! I'll give your method a try once I find a wire coat hanger! I'm surrounded by Tesco's plastic ones -_-

  • Well, car came back from the garage, the alignment on the front is still off a bit so it's going back out on Monday morning. Not to worry. The car was stinkin' filthy so I managed to get a quick wash

  • The postman brought me a nice wee parcel today. Got my new HID set. Nice and white. Very pleased. I've noticed though that these being 55w, the 'click' I usually get when turning on my light

Anyone seen or heard anything about these ? http://www.greggson.co.uk/focus/1659-ford-focus-mk2-hatchback-sport-exhaust-tail-pipe.html

Looks good mate,

Replaces the existing pipe from muffler and mounts on the existing hanger,

Id have an exhaust specialist fit it and 100% worth it, I've saw them selling for 140GBP on eBay.

I Spose that would change the sound of the car then? Deeper?

it wont change the tone of the exhaust atall mate,

You could get a 2.5" cat back Stainless custom exhaust for around 200 GBP which could look the same as that and sound different but the tip itself will just look good.

I got a quote from a local outfit for a 2.5" cat back system with one silencer, but they wanted £400 for that which I thought was steep. Who does it for £200? Off the shelf items seem fairly pricey as well!

Hmm. I like the price tag of just the tail pipe but I'd like a bit of a deeper tone.

Have to go for the cheaper option these days as I'm getting married next April :o

400 is steep for a single side mate, i bought my 2.5" duplex off the shelf from Piper Performance for 400 via ZenSport, i know a Magnaflow specialist in Trim co.meath best in the country would build a single side for around €240 which is around £200 www.souhan.ie

Thanks. I'm not should I would call it epic compared to some other peoples threads but I found a pic the other day of how the car looked first day I got it and, yea, it looks quite a bit different now, especially the interior.

MOT on Tuesday morning and, as usual, I'm thinking of all the things that I could get failed for lol

Headlight alignment, steering wheel alignment, license plate lights and emissions are the things I'm worried about.

Headlights:

got new Depo ones. I've had them in and out a couple times after two alignments. Had to change a headlight bulb today as one blew. Will doing that set the alignment off again?

Wheel Alignment:

Had this done twice too. Two different garages say the wheels are aligned properly with nothing else can be done yet the car still moves to the right when steering wheel is bang on centre.

License plate lights:

I recently installed a reverse camera with the built in LED. This is more yellowy than the LED unit on the opposite side. Will they say anything about the two different colours? Or the fact they're leds?

Emissions:

I sometimes smell petrol on startup, only since its been cold right enough but would the emissions taste flag something?

Probably thinking more than I should about things but I can't help it.

I've had wipers replaced, new discs and pads and wishbone bushes front and rear done for this MOT.

Did you get a printout when the alignment was done?

The other issues shouldn't cause a problem unless the garage is picky. Have you been there before?

Garage as in the MOT centre? I've been only once before with my girlfriends Fiesta at the time. That passed even with the lowering springs I did myself on the driveway with no setup lol This will be my second time only, first with my own car :o

I didn't get printouts no but two different garages telling me they can't do anymore on two different days? There must be something else. The second garage told me to try switching driver side front wheel will driver side rear to see if that makes a difference. Haven't tried it yet though.

I had a similar thing with car recently with regards to the steering behaving like that.

I had alignment and tracking done at 2 different garages, both said all perfect but still happened. Replaced the tyres and swapped fronts and rear over. Problem solved. Are the tryes worn evenly?

The tyres are relatively new. I only got them with my alloys around September I think. I'll try swapping fronts for rears and see what that does. Thanks.

Well the cars been for MOT and failed. Not on any of the things I was worried about though. Apparently I have a broken suspension spring in front driver side. Bummer. I imagine this is why my car keeps pulling the right. Been on the phone to my mechanic already to see if Apex springs can be ordered individually or not. I'm guessing not though.

Yea not having a great deal of fun with suspension/steering. My mechanic says another set of Apex won't be available for another month from his supplier but he said he's ordered me a set of H&R springs and he'll pay the difference for me which is great!

So instead of in Thursday to get old springs back on for the test, I'm in on Friday for new lowering springs and test then next week.

Silver lining and all that jazz......

Just hope it sorts my steering issues.
