Things I Don't Like

The thing that genuinely confused me was that a recent course of daily injections (inhixa) were speced at 100Mg (1Ml) - I thought it would have been 100Ml LOL

No, just the name of the drug and it's details. Other text like my details in correct Upper/lower case.  I know I fall into the category of "Grumpy Old Man", but I see it as another example of falling standards ?

Not specific to your boots, mine the same

No such unit of measurement as 'MG'

mcg = microgram

mg = milligram

idiot = miliband

What makes Litres more important than grams?

Ask the French - Système international d'unités

Bring back the imperial system based on the real world, not arithmetic !

I can fold a piece of paper by eye into 2, which means 4, 8, 16.....

Try folding a piece of paper into 10 ....

Extrapolate into string, butter, fields etc

12 has a multiple of factors 1,2,3,4,6,12

10 only has 1,2,5,10 - then look at how many factors in a gross.

10 bottles of Manns brown - a 2x5 crate or a dozen, 3x4 which is better (Newcastle !)

A piece of string with 13 equally spaced knots ie 12 equal distances. Equilateral triangle with lengths of 4, 3.4.5 triangle a right angle Square, four sides of three.

Shall I continue to bore thee ?

Tyres have three units -  inches, mm, and %

As does a 19inch rack - inches, "U" and mm.

Computers either binary or Hex

Personally I like dB, ask the boss for a 3dB pay rise !

Slow morning?? 🤣

Very !

Looks like lower case l can be confused with both a capital l and the number l, so they use capital L to avoid the confusion.

I don't like Royal Mail saying they tried to deliver a parcel and clearly didn't!

2 cars in the driveway, garage door open and music playing and front door unlocked!!! 😡

Having thought about it, maybe I should have posted this in the 'I like ' thread! 🤔

Now I can go and pick it up and Mrs Turvey won't know about it and grill me on what 'c r a p' I've been buying now! 🤣

I do the " it's something for work " if I'm asked.

Doesn't work for the retired...

Ah, I got 5 1/2 years to figure out an alternative response. " Took the parcel in for the neighbour"??

Or a bit more risky, "it's for the other girlfriend/ boyfriend " as appropriate. 🤣🤣

I think they're trying to outdo Evri these days. I've had to go collect stuff from the Post Office where  they've left a card even though we were in, with car on drive like you. They must have a special feather to knock with.

Yet on other occasions items of value have just been abandoned on the step.

Hate to say it, but I find "delivery by Amazon" best at the moment. Their tracker is very good, with ability to see where the driver is on the map. I've literally walked to the door when it shows he's outside our house and the guy's stood there about to knock!😀

Don't usually have any problems with delivers here, apart from the day or two extra it takes sometimes!

RM usually very good but on this occasion they didn't even leave a card!

I had to cancel an Amazon order of several items this week.  Ordered it a week ago and thought nothing more of it.  Checked delivery estimate yesterday and it said end of September to mid October!  Ended up cancelling all items then re-ordering them...has already been dispatched and should arrive tomorrow.  No idea what happened there as I wouldn't have made the first order if it had shown such a long delivery timescale in the first place. :unsure:

As for Evri, the local delivery driver has changed here recently.  Previous one was perfect, items left in my safe place every time.  Unfortunately the new one is not.  Initially started leaving items at other random properties (not even next door!).  Has now progressed to nearer my property, but nowhere near my safe place, so I've still got to get shoes and jacket on to go and get them. :rolleyes:

On a slightly different note, has anyone bought or sold through ebay using a 'collection only' item recently.  I've read about now needing to exchange a code to do this, but still not quite sure how it works in practice.  If I wanted to leave an item in a safe place at a time to suit me, for the buyer to come and collect at a time to suit them, would that still be possible without direct contact at the point of collection?  (I'm not bothered about the item getting stolen, will only be donated to charity otherwise, and they may not even accept depending on their own stock levels!)

Well, credit where it's due. Had a delivery of an EBay item this morning (only ordered on Wednesday) by Royal Mail, bang in the middle of the advised 2 hour slot!

Positive post from me too...my Amazon order, due tomorrow, arrived today! :biggrin:

So, as posted in the other thread, the solar battery charger does seem to be working to keep the unused battery topped up.  However...

My positivity was soon reduced by wafts of raw diesel blowing past.  Looks like the fuel filter is leaking around the top.  Not sure whether it's a sealed canister or separate seal around the top yet. Only 5 years old.  Must be another item suffering from lack of use, I've never had a fuel filter leak before.  Irony is this car passed MOT two weeks ago!

Having now found out this car does have a wetbelt (for oil pump), has battery issues and now a fuel leak, I might as well have bought another Ford!! :unsure: :laugh:

I don't know what time you did this, but we would all have been watching Cream's 1968 Farewell Albert Hall Concert on Talking Pictures...........

Post time of 11.51pm...I reckon most FOC members were in bed! :laugh:

Litres are a volume unit (1/1000 m^3), it's equivalent to a 10cm (3.94") cube. A centimeter is about the width of an USB A connector.

Grams are a mass unit (that 1 Litre of water weights 1 kilogram ...under Earth's surface gravity, at 4°C (~39°F)).

So 1 gram is about the weight of a 0.4" cube of water (1mL water or 1cm cube).

The units on the "Solution" picture above indicate a concentration of 100mg / 100mL. That's 0.1 gram (of the active product) per 0.1L, thus per 10 of those 0.4 inches cubes of liquid. ((( Cube root of 40 gives a ~1.6 inches cube))).
