If you google P2288 you'll find lot's of info, possible causes & possible cures, I'd change the fuel filter first as it's cheap & easy ( may not cure the issue though ) but still a good thing do to.

What i keep seeing is the miles left to fuel keeps going down even tho im not driving it? just starting it up for a few mins a day but lost 20miles in the last week?

Fuel computers are not always truthful ! Brim to brim method over several tankful's will prove accurate M.P.G. :)

That's because it is showing the miles left based on the consumption at the time, I drive 25 miles to get to Perth and I will have more fuel than when I set off, just left Perth with 137 miles to empty and got home with 165 miles left
