Ok I've got the full set now in my basket. Headlights, sidelights and fogs. I like everything to match lol

£60 for bulbs is quite a bit so I'll have to see when I can persuade the boss to let me purchase.

  • Folks you may have noticed that I've been relatively quiet on here for a while. The reason being, my wife and I have bought our first house together. We are finally getting settled and all is well so

  • That house looks very small... Or is it just far away?

Another one under the thumb!

Well, I only have these two photos, so far I didn't have much time and frankly even a reason to make a better shot at their output...

post-58295-0-74515600-1436291994_thumb.jpost-58295-0-64394700-1436291995_thumb.j

But comparing them with Osram's Nightbreakers which I used before, these definitely put out much more white-ish colour then the Nightbreakers - they're still pretty much yellow(-ish) compared to these...these are really much more white, perhaps a little blue, but the good kind of blue - which results in nice cold white colour :)

Oh, better example...here's a shot of light from Nightbreakers:

- as you can see the colour is pretty much yellow...

Now, with these, the reflection on the wall would be much much more close to this colour (basically white):

or this:

- this is of course light output from DRLs, which are white (6000K)

I hope this helps you at least a little bit ;)

Oh and no worries about ranting about HIDs...personally it's too much risky for me (because I would definitely forget about them before MOT :D ), so I rather stay with classic bulbs with higher Ks, which I believe will still pass MOT and if not, changing them on the spot is the easiest thing to do :) ... but I'm not against using it if you like, if the headlights are properly alligned, then why not? You're the driver, you need to see the road the most and best you can :)

Excellent, thanks for the pics. Yea I see what you mean, they still look pretty yellow to me. If I'm going to be spending near £60 id like a much more noticeable ice white look, which only a hid bulb can give. I may still try the osrams out but not right away.

I have H7R hids ready to go in but, through lack of research, didn't realise that the bulb holders have a closed back so the wires from the hids won't fit and also apparently the hids can throw up the 'bulb error' message so looks like I'll need some resistors too.

I bookmarked these ones recently which look great:

I got the headlights for my MK2 off there and never had any problems with build quality or anything like that.

Starting de-chroming today. Only got driver side door done so far. What you all think? Going for stealth I think.

What you all think?

I like it. Look forward to seeing a whole side done.

Prefer it with the chrome.

The ST doesnt have the chrome and im not sure about it on black models as i do like the chrome contrast breaking up the black paint.

Just finished the rest on the drivers side. I'll have to redo the rear quarter glass bit, some chrome still showing through. But I like it.

We'll see after I get the car lowered if I want to go up to 19". Happy for now though.

The last one, Mondeo 19's!

I was looking at these as they are the same design as mine but with a diamond cut face and 19" off the Mondeo. I like the OEM+ look so its a subtle mod that makes people look twice as to why its different to theirs!
