Won't make any difference to performance without a map to take advantage of it.

Anyone know how well the tivct engine reacts to remapping? I'm guessing not well due to the whole oil pressure/timing/variable valve stuff ?

  • Folks you may have noticed that I've been relatively quiet on here for a while. The reason being, my wife and I have bought our first house together. We are finally getting settled and all is well so

  • That house looks very small... Or is it just far away?

Had a longish run today. Can feel a slight difference. Engine sounds more snarly and it seems like acceleration has increased slightly...

I'm in Paris right now so haven't had a chance to update anymore on the air filter other than the cars feels slightly more lively and, it could be me but, when the traction control is off its even livlier in this mode than before the air filter.

Since I'm in Paris I didn't some window shopping:

I decided that the gloss black was a magnet for dust, or just dust was very visible on it. Ether way I started wrapping the dash console in carbon :) !

Another small mod I did at the weekend was to improve the lighting in the boot as moving guitars and amps in the dark is a pain. I scored two signage led units from work and wired them up using two spare 501 adaptors I had laying around. Much better spread now as you can see:

I usually have nothing in the boot so don't mind the mess.

Looks good! Shame about the wheel arches blocking the light :(

Yea I realised while fitting them that there would be issues with light spread still. Fitting them flat would just spread light straight across the boot and fitting them at a slant, which I've done would create shadows. I'm pretty sure they're positioned for optimum light.

That's what annoys me is the shadows. I've given up on so many plans to light the boot because of the arches :(

suspension is one of those items where you really do get what you pay for , and quality costs.

so on that basis a full coil over kit for just over £200 is likely to be pants to be honest.

Thanks for your views. I would rather do springs but I've seen/heard reports of the H&R not lowering enough at the front of the MK3. Which puts me off.

Suspension is a black art. There's too much rubbish out there claiming this and that. Since you have a titanium best bet is to source zetec S springs and dampers. Tried and tested by Ford and countless owners. Excellent what you've done to your car. Like the carbon wrap. May just do my titanium x (deep impact blue ) as it'll suit my full leather interior.

agree with the above sentiment with regards to keeping it stock.

if you're happy with a drop of no more than 30mm then a set of eibach sport springs is ideal

good quality units that ford themselves use for suspension upgrades.

Yea it's a standard unscrew. Quite easy but there's more pieces of trim attached to the gaitor than I thought.
