Mk4 Mondeo Noise From Front

Featured Replies

Hi there

I'm driving a 2012 mondeo 1.6 eco boost 160bhp

I'm having an issue which appears at 2500rpm (about 80mph) when accelerating in 6th gear. I've not noticed it in any other gears.

It's a noise that sounds a bit like a cross between the noise you get if you drive over anti skid surfaces and the exhaust slightly blowing.

I've had the tyres checked over and front wheels rebalanced and the all four corners tracking done on a Hunter machine about 4 weeks ago (the noise was there before I had this done and I was kinda hoping this would fix it).

The car is due into the garage this week but I'm wondering if this a known issue or if anyone else has had something similar?

Cheers

Mark
