A Few Minor Problems

Featured Replies

Morning all, as posted in the new members section I have a 2002 Mondeo Ghia X estate petrol. when I got the car I was told it just needed the brake pads changing .. .. .. .. yeh ok .. .. .. well a full set of discs and pads, accelerator cable later I have now found several other minor problems.

hopefully some one on here will be able to help me.

1) central locking wasn't working on the passenger side front door, seems to be contagious as the passenger side rear door now no longer locks or unlocks on the fob or key have disconnected the electrical connectors and checked them for signs of corrosion, non found.

2) the stereo that's fitted 6006e C.D. player was broken so I bought another of off eBay which worked for all of one day, load C.D's all ok, come out next day says no C.D's remove C.D player re-fit, enter code works great next morning same thing?

3) driving along yesterday and heard a loud bang from the back of the car, as if some one had thrown a stone as it, any way had 1/4 tank of fuel and was saying I could do 80 miles after the bang its still reading 1/4 of a tank of fuel but now saying range is 0 (zero) fuel gauge is still working as I've since done another 40 miles and the needle is dropping ok.

so there you have it, lovely car to drive, need to set the lumbar support as it gives me a bad back on long journeys but other than that im happy with it.

any advice you can give about the above problems would be appreciated.

thanks Tony

Can't help with 2 and 3, but 1 I might be able to.

I posted a thread on another forum not long after I got my Mondy as I had the same central locking issues - http://www.talkford.com/community/topic/241761-how-to-fix-central-locking-motors/#entry2154518

Takes a bit of effort but since doing it all my lock's have been fine.
