Aux Drivebelt Screaming

Featured Replies

Hi guys. So I've got a Mondeo mk3 tdci, 130. 55 plated. In the last 10 weeks, I've had two gates belts, one gates tensioner, one SKF tensioner, pair of gates idler pulleys, gates crank pullyand a new A/C compressor. It's just started to scream and grind again. There seems to be some wavering in the belt between the alternator and the tensioner. Any flashes of inspiration anyone??

I've got as as asbo's, grooved and drilled discs all round, updated intercooler, induction kit, cobra exhaust and had it mapped yesterday at SOS Motorsport, Falkirk. Not that this will point to what this fault is, but I'm reasonably competent.

Many thanks, John.

Just to keep you guys updated, I took it round to the local Ford dealer who reckoned that there was some kind of problem with the main crank pulley, so I'll let you know what the outcome of this is. So much for me replacing this with a new item!!!

I must admit that the engine has been idling a bit rough, so that would explain it all.
