Mondeo Mk3 Diesel Glow Plug Light On

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to this site.hope someone can help.

I have a 2006 mondeo estate diesel tdci 130 ps with 208,ooo miles on.

I changed the diesel pump about 2 months ago and cleaned the egr valve as it was half blocked and so was 3 of the inlet manifolds which I cleaned.i am now getting the glow plug light on when I start the car and it's in limp mode for the first 5 minutes until it warms up.then turn key off and back on and then I have full power again.its annoying driving at 30 mile an hour.

And help would be appreciated

Thanks dave

have you done an error code scan? I would suggest using something like FORMIDABLE and a usb ELM327 cable for a proper code read, or a modified ELM327 device, with FORScan to get error codes from different systems.

Is the car running rough at all? this could be a poor voltage to one or more plugs?

I brought a code reader but shows no errors

I have now noticed that the throttle actuator when code isn't there it sits at 12 o clock, but when it's got glow light flashing it sits at 10 o clock.

Can you clean these up or change it as the manual says it marrys up with the turbo charger.

Does this sound more like my problem.

Thanks for your reply jeebowhite.

No it's not running rough atall

could be a sticky actuator, this could well be the reason for your error... have you tried to loosen it up?
