St220 Inket Manifold Tapping

Featured Replies

hi i have a tapping sound after a few minutes of engine running sounds like the rear bank under the inlet manifold or could it be the inlet manifold? tapping gets louder as the revs increase

Poss it might be the swirl flaps.@ the end of inlet manifold theres a damper try disconnecting it and see if it happens again. Its only a plastic ball so it slips off with ease

hi thanks for reply I'm a bit of a newbie to this have u got a pic of it

as far as i can remember the v6 does not have swirl plates, but a common cause of a ticking engine is the water pump drive belt tension on the cam which can cause wear to the bearing caps, this may not be the problem but its a possability.
