I have recently bought a 2009 Auto estate but do not fully understand how the dual clutch auto works.

Previous autos I have owned had a fluid flywheel but as I understand it my Mondeo has 2 electronically operated dry clutches. Do these wear out and require replacement like clutches in manual cars?

I guess that when moving off taking your foot of the brake tells the electronics to engage the clutch. With fluid flywheel sitting on a slight hill in drive does no harm to the transmission but would I be correct in thinking that if the footbrake is released the clutch would be slipping and thus wearing?
