boney93
I have recently brought myself a 07 plate mondeo titanium x with the 2.5 turbo petrol engine, my brother owns the 2.5 titanium x sport mondeo, I notice his is lower and stiffer suspension, what's the best way to go about putting better suspension on mine as his feels nicer
bwoody
If its anything like the Fiesta, the Zetec S has stiffer suspension and is 10mm lower than the Titanium X, so you could maybe get the suspension from a titanium x sport or have a look for a set of lowering springs for your existing suspension. Other option would be to go for a set of adjustable coilovers, but then you are looking at a lot more money compared to lowering springs. MONDEO TXS 2.2
I would suspect that you are going to need to uprate / change the springs & shock's at least, as, if they are original, they'll be well worn by now, subject to mileage covered, but in any case from my experience the MK 3 handles very differently to the MK 4 / 4.5 I would go so far as to say my 05 plate ST TDCi handled better in some ways to my MK4.5 TDCi TXS ( & was way more more economical too ) I'm not sure it's really possible to compare the handling characteristics of two very different cars
boney93
Might try some springs see what happens! Cheers chaps
Wangarai
Try Eibach Pro springs; they're sold by for dealership. I put these in my Mk3 ST TDCI which already had sport suspension as standard - I wasn't attempting to be a boy racer just that the Eibach Pros were considerably cheaper than the ST springs, were sold by Ford and my insurer didn't class them as a modification as they were a Fors supplied option. I presume you can also get these for the Mk4, I've moved onto the Mk4 Titanium X Sport and the sport suspension is very good. I think the 2.5 turbo was the top of the range petrol and only available in the Titanium X Sport trim so it'll have sports suspension as standard.
