Made a deal today on a 2012 Focus Estate Zetec S 182 - very nice car and has plenty of toys to get to grips with!

looking forward to reading up on other posts and works of others! 

My first question is - can I replace the analogue heater controls for the digital ones found in the Titanium models? Is it just plug and play?

Welcome Tom! Judging by the description 2012 and 182 does this mean you have one of the 1.6 Ecoboost engines?

Hi buddy! Thats correct, 1.6 ecoboost :)

read mixed reviews about the engines - some saying theyre bullet proof and some saying they have coolant issues. The car was bought and serviced everytime at the ford i went to view it at but the coolant level was just below the LOW mark. Ill be keeping an eye on that as i got the 12 month motor assured warrenty with it

Sweet! My Boyfriend has one, 62plate 1.6Ecoboost Zetec S in Race Red. When they were selling it to him they said its quite an engine he's got in there cause as you know they changed it not so long after to a 1.5 Ecoboost engine for the Focus ZS. He lined himself up at some lights with a new one and said his came out on top still.

The only thing that goes a little funny is the Auto Start Stop. If he hasn't driven it in a while for example while we've been on holiday it take a few runs to get it back into the swing of switching off at the lights etc. Other than that he's been more than happy with it since he got it :)

Sounds like an awesome beast, it's making me really impatient to get mine now lol! I've been waiting a while for an ecoboost for a little while and a nice example popped up last week and I had to jump on it. Was going to go for a hatch but I'm an estate guy really, but I would only have one in the ZS trim...

I've read in the US that the escape and fusion are having horrendous coolant usage problems resulting in most cases having new engines :O

It really is, sticks me to the passenger seat for sure! He hasn't had any problems under the bonnet up to press. I think that some faults occur in other countries due to different conditions. Could be anything though. Best way to keep a car performing at its best is to keep in check with the service schedule :) Unless of course you're one to DIY then its something you yourself can keep tabs on it.
