Newbie - Ford Focus throttle hesitation

Hi all,

I bought my father a 2005 1.4 Focus yesterday, it has 75,000 mile with a full Ford service history, very clean car.

on the test drive all was okay, no problems but on the drive home I noticed it had a slight hesitation in the throttle at all speeds and nearly all gears!

it idles perfectly, no engine lights and if you drive it slowly through the gears its fine but when you need to put the boot down it stutters / hesitates a bit but then powers on!

it was serviced a 1000 miles ago and I'm thinking (hoping) its not serious and its something like a throttle sensor or something?

any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!

many thanks,

Rob.

Edit: I'm Rob from Ireland by the way :)

Welcome Robert :)

+1 Dez, you might get more/better answers in the Focus part of the forum, others might have experienced similar things :)
