Hello all!

Thought I'd join the group as I've had many questions since buying my Ford Fiesta 03 Zetec 1.4TDCi.

I'm not exactly looking to modify the whole car, but I've thought about a few updates to making it more pleasing.

 

1. Side door trim. Can I take these off, or respray them? The issue is they used to be black but now are very faded and look rubbish. (I'm not referring to the panels next to the windows, but the trim mid way up the door). Or is it possible to buy a silver version of this trim?

 

2. Wing mirrors. Again, because it's a 2003 car, the matt black is now faded... I've looked online but find no easy answer... but how can I upgrade the wing mirror to a silver version? Can I buy ones that are the same model? I don't think I'd spray them because I'm sure I'd do a poor job.

 

3. Tinted windows. Who's for? Who's against? I'm thinking of taking on a little project to buy some film and tint the windows myself. I know this is a difficult job and should be left the professionals. But if you don't try, you don't learn right?

 

4. Stereo. I've also looked into upgraded the stereo by cutting out the individual sections and adding a square bracket to house a modern stereo. Is it worth the hassle?

 

5. Finally, does making minor modifications add any value to the car? Or since it's old, not so much!

50 million dollar question is that Luke. Insurance co are fickle.

Welcome Luke :) Try posting your questions in the Fiesta part of the forum too, you're likely to get more answers cause more Fiesta owners live over there :P
