Hi everyone. im chris.

Im looking at getting  a 09 focus lx. ones ive seen for my budget of £2500 have around 70-80000 miles. should i consider it or not. what are the things i should look for? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Hi Welcome :-)

Well I've had focus's either in the family or personally for a number of years now and all I can say is from my opinion they are incredibly reliable cars.

Might help if you can post a bit more in the way of specifics, e.g engine size, fuel type etc that you are looking at?

I'll let people who are more mechanically minded let you know what to look for.  I would guess timing belt, fanbelt, any major works done to engine etc, service history.

Also one to think about, HPI check.  Amazing the amount of cars that have a history to them.

Thanks.

It would be a 1.6 petrol with a manual gearbox. im currently driving a semi auto c3. ive been lookig for ones with full service history. Would a 1.6 with over 100000 miles be risky?

Chris

I can only go off personal experience in that my folks have an 04 focus 1.4 which is on 129,000 and going strong.  I have a diesel focus with signifcantly less miles than that, which has driven well and proved to be exceptionally reliable so far.

Sure others who have been there and driven that can give you opinions, there is a specific ford focus section which you may find useful.

I can't really say yes or no to your question as I havent seen nor driven the speicific car that you have seen,

Good luck :-)
